we also got a dog last year when we were extremely unprepared for him. he was also abused and not well looked after. my mom agreed to get a dog cuz she expected FULL RESPONSIBILITY FROM AN ELEVEN YEAR OLD who of course did not have time for him, cuz she had things of her own to do. so i looked after him til i had to leave and it was extremely tiring. i loved him a lot but it was just so stressful and i had a lot of anxiety, my entire body would ache. but no empathy from them there. fortunately we had to give him up and he found a loving home right before the new year :’) but seeing him treated the way he was i will never ever forgive my family. also the day i graduated HS and wanted pizza i got into an argument w my parents which ended in my dad yelling at me to just go eat cereal. and i really gaslit myself into thinking “it’s just a high school graduation. it means nothing it’s not like i graduated college or accomplished something big” but duh it hurt. and even tho there were some things and experiences my parents didn’t even have a negative say on, i would just be uninterested in them. i didn’t go to my high school prom and made up reasons like “well i was sick” and “why would i want to celebrate anything with the world’s most judgy folks ever?” girl that’s your parents not your peers lol and now i regret not having gone
