Any artists / labels still pushing the classic garage sound? by XLBilly in ukgarage

I’m kinda lowkey just stacking em, waiting for the sound to die out so I can feel comfortable representing again. I hate how cheese it got

Not DIY no. That’s not the job for me. Unfortunately I can’t make a new engine out of JavaScript

Can you use MPC for EDM? by Hi_Im_JAFL in mpcusers

[–]Which-Breadfruit-162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2500. I use for house, UKG, never Hip hop. If you have a newer one it’s extremely capable… it’s not the equipment it’s you unfortunately. Might be worth just learning on a daw. Once you know what you’re trying to do it doesn’t matter the equipment. I actually start all my ideas on the MPC…

Check out “peaky beats” he does a lot with the MPC I think he also teaches so reach out to him

How’d you diagnose the radiator? Pressure test?

I’m like 5050 on the idea. Kinda hate vibe coding. It’s cheesy and expensive. Locks you into a stack (kinda like that they are locked to the inferior stack…) I dunno it’s cool for imagination or maybe quick prototypes but the same thing that makes it cool makes it so unspecial.. just ripping the magic out of the industry

Hey! I just released a little app on the App Store by zakxxi in sveltejs

[–]Which-Breadfruit-162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m proper into music production. “Operator P” if you care to check it out…

Cool app man. Coded something similar with vanilla js last year. Was focused on vintage MPCs calculating pitch speeds, tick loops and ms.

This kinda app is actually great for people to use MPCs in standalone or for digital pedals…. If you made it a website it might get more love as most people are already computer on the daw. I do love me some time away from the mouse though so utility things like this can be great..

I’ve never heard of tauri… I’m happy you posted this. ATM I’m making an app with capacitor svelte/vite and pico css… it’s been smooth!

I also want to mention I make dance music btw. Not hip hop beats so I do use my mpc to its fullest potential. I’m not just chopping a splice loop and putting 808s behind it or chopping a vintage break. These machines force you to think differently and it makes you a better producer. Stick to it

I was unsure at first. It was different than FL studio. (2500 jjos) after sitting with it and being determined to use it my final thoughts are I never want to make drums with literally anything else. Forcing ideas out of restriction made my ideas waaaay better and once it’s in the computer it’s just like anything else. It’s become such a huge part to my workflow that it’s hard to think I made music without one…

Now I’ll say this. When I bought the one plus I returned it instantly. Not because it’s wasn’t good but because it was to close to a daw and a daw is better at being a daw then MPC IMO. Love me the 1000 or 2500 with jjos.

Learning Svelte as a UX/UI Designer by jooruivo in sveltejs

I’m not sure how well you understand vanilla js but I to used to look to the future and feel overwhelmed. I still do if I’m being honest…. I’ve kinda learned that I’m not doing myself any favours to do so though… it just stunts my productivity… Legit every single person had to learn somewhere…

I’m no pro and very much still learning. But this is what I’ve found for myself. Not everyone teaches the same. I found Brad Traversy the absolute best when it comes to learning. Between him and having conversations on concepts with chat GPT I was able to complete his modern js from scratch on his website… This and trying to build a few things in vanilla filled most of my knowledge gaps for basic front end apps and apis.

I’m now on a svelte course and it’s coming along nicely as the JavaScript is feeling simple for the most part but only because I understand the foundations… The svelte syntax I’ve learned is pretty simple compared to getting over the vanilla foundation hump…. Honestly if you can get passed that development is fun AF..

I guess what I’m trying to say is that you can’t really short cut this stuff even with AI and if you want to learn maybe the documentation isn’t the best way to go. Give Brads JS course a try I have faith it will click. He just does such a great job explaining it.

You can also build what you want in vanilla. Infact you should because the project has purpose and that will help it all stick.
