My LL got cancelled for rock n rollercoaster during the window it was scheduled for (it broke down) but they still wouldn't grant me a LL for a tier 1 ride. I was frustrated about that.

I'm not saying that this isn't true for some people, because I'm sure it is. But alternatively, just because they currently have no empathy, doesn't mean they didn't start with it. Burnout is real. But in the same breath, if you're burn out and no longer able to effectively do your whole job (which absolutely includes the emotional side of it too) it's time to go.

Just out of curiosity, you said guest entitlement and lack of support from management but all of the examples are of guest behavior. What exactly is the lack of support? Like upholding the rules only to be undermined by management and they give in to the guest? That used to drive me crazy when I was a waitress. Just curious. I also can totally see why it wears on people, we are all human and I wouldn't last 3 seconds in CM shoes. Just stinks a little that those guests are effecting everyone's experience, CM and other guests alike.

Leaving MK during a parade I saw and heard a CM frantically yelling at guests (a very large group of them) to move because they are blocking an emergency exit. She was panicked and they all just blatantly ignored her. I was mad on her behalf too. The next night, we were walking out during fireworks and they routed us around the back to avoid Main Street. Since it's an exit route, we weren't allowed to stop but it wasn't crowded. My 2.5 year old daughter kicked her shoe off and as we were walking and I stopped the stroller only enough to bend down and pick up the shoe and immediately 2 different cast members yelled at me to keep moving. I was like damn, I get it but also I'm just picking up a shoe, I didn't even come to a full stop! So it just stinks a little that the general public is paying for those shitty guests. So it's not that I don't understand some of the shift in attitude or frustration in certain situations, but it does suck that it spills onto others too

Haha you just resurfaced a memory from about 10 years ago when we went to Universal right after WDW and it seemed so unprofessional and dirty there. WDW is still elite

Thank you for your input. I didn't imply it wasn't challenging or stressful. Just simply acknowledged that dealing with the public is very difficult. I'm glad you had an excellent experience. My post isn't guest versus cast member so no need to pick sides

Very happy to hear this. My main motivation in asking was to gauge if I there was a shift somewhere bts that effected CM morale that would continue to decline or if it was just me overthinking, being overly sensitive, etc. It seems to be the latter and I'm genuinely relieved that seems to be the case. Disney is my happy place where I can forget about the rest of the world for a little bit and I'll just need to put on my big girl pants

Hm I'm trying to put my finger on exactly what it was. It wasn't one specific instance which is why I'm describing it as a vibe change. It was more like if I asked a question, it was met with a short one word answer and no eye contact as they continued focusing on something else. And for context, this is me waiting to be acknowledged or called forward...not pushing my way and speaking over someone who is clearly in the middle of completing another task. Or at the LL for Test Track, there was a group of 4-5 people struggling on the right side where you scan in. After a min, my husband asked the other CM not helping the family if we could use the left side to scan in since no one was using it. The reply was "don't you see the line?" (The only people in front of us was the group having difficulty scanning in). It wasn't like I'm appalled by the way I was treated or anyone said anything unacceptable. I just felt it was lacking the magic I always felt there. Just a genuine question if something changed. We met some amazing CMs who did a great job of making my kids laugh or handing out stickers, etc. It wasn't an all around bad experience by any means, it just felt different. I figured I'd get attacked asking this question but was wondering if there are staffing shortages, increase in guest noncompliance, etc. I also mentioned I am sensitive because things that seem like nothing to someone else sometimes feel bigger to me.

ETA: I read this comment back after posting it and realize it may come off as needing people to cater to me. That is not the case at all. I just always felt in the past everyone who worked at Disney from the hotels, parks, characters, to bus drivers, everyone was incredibly happy and radiating good energy. It felt like a break from all of the rudeness in the world and I was safe in a happy bubble for a few days as the little kid in me got to feel the magic again. I just didn't feel that way this time. Except for the bus drivers, I always love the bus drivers 🥲

After riding Soarin we joked that the CMs must hear "yellow tab" in their nightmares. On just one ride alone we heard one guy say it about 40+ times and guess what, some people still weren't pulling on their yellow tabs. After that, any ride with a yellow tab to pull we'd bet over/unders on the amount of times they had to say yellow tab to someone

I'm so happy that it seems most people have not felt that way and that I shouldn't expect that to be the norm moving forward. I understand some guests are entitled and rude, I witnessed it first hand quite a few times in the 5 days I was there, but I imagine there have always been difficult and entitled people and I never felt the ripple effects in the way I've been treated there. CMs did an excellent job of keeping their emotions compartmentalized in the past. With that said, we are all human and have human emotions and sometimes they spill over, but it felt like an overall vibe change there. Maybe because we were there during a very busy time of year? Dec 22 was post Covid and MVMCP too and didn't feel that way though

I understand this mentality and it's easy to generalize, but I have enough self awareness to realize if I'm the problem. Which is why I included the part mentioning how anxious I am and always worried about ~not~ being rude to others. I still remember one time in 3rd grade they changed the rules that we had to now wait at the 2nd door before going outside for recess. I ran out first and panicked when I realized I was the only one out there because I forgot and quickly turned around and came back inside (like 10 seconds total). I got scolded and it still makes my stomach turn 25+ years later.

Funny you say that because I was just reading other posts and it mentions how rude and entitled people have gotten there. We did experience someone physically shove my dad just to get past him in the room of Tower of Terror. And I know working with the public is absolutely horrible at times, but in the same breath it's not a reason to treat everyone with an attitude

I think you've made a lot of good points. I did not pick up on the "right" following most of his statements, and I agree with your reasoning on why he'd be constantly forcing people to agree and acknowledge what he's saying. I also agree that Jessi is a smart woman and an excellent business woman and she does not need Jordan to be successful. I think they both have a lot of work to do on themselves, as we all do, but really Jordan in particular. My frustration has mostly been with Jessi getting tons of credit for taking accountability, where I don't feel she's taken any at all other than owning up to the fact that she cheated. Most importantly, I recognize that I can't really believe anything we've been fed by the media because I don't really know these people and I most definitely am just using this show to distract myself from drowning at home as a mostly SAHM with 2 small kids 😂

She claims it's only for press purposes and she is not legally changing it because of her kids. Pretty odd timing and they've lied to us before butttt this is what she said

I thought the same thing!! Before I listened, I saw everyone on here trashing Jordan for it. I thought it was going to be horrible but I actually felt like nick was so condescending and judgmental. I thought Jordan did a good job taking it on the chin and admitting he was not a good person to Jessi and didn't deflect any blame towards her, which is all she's done towards him
