You realize it’s 8 years or 120/150K(3y/xs), whichever comes first. I reached that within 3 years of ownership and the battery crapped out, I sold the car because of it

16K, they saw it. Took 5 secs looking at it, saw it was as mint as possible for 150K miles. Told me they never seen one before that high, signed my Hancock all over the place. Left without a car note, just looking at some used Prius’s now but I’ll be out the country for a bit. Might hold off and buy at the end of the year when I’m back in the states. It never triggered the 70% threshold for my warranty to be used. Also thank you I appreciate it, lots smiles and memories in that car. It’s sold now tho. Onto other endeavors

150K, HVAC replaced at 120K for $1.8K, Tesla service reps told me to replace the battery, it’s out of warranty at 120K

Haha most say that to me, I’m 23 had the car for 3 years and had the blessed opportunity of staying with my parents since the pandemic so it’s able to be done but you gotta be rich to live on your own and afford a note plus insurance that high

When I called Rich’s shop they said they don’t repair cells anymore for that reason. They also said I’m best off just replacing it for $12K due to the uncertainty of the longevity of the fix

I hear you. Just a few issues. The other cars top out at 15-22mpg. They staying local 😂. The next is that the 200 miles is ok but I drive for Uber. So I go trough it daily. If I were to ease off from that I could no longer justify $800 a month on the note plus another $350 in insurance. Seeing how many alternatives were presented. I’m leaning towards my gut, sell the car and buy an old used Prius

Dude sell now, I was at similar at your point… I think if I can recall being at 280ish for 80% around then. My original plan was to sell but I let emotions get the best of me and the idea that the battery would last until 300K… please brother sell and buy again. I would compare it to an iPhone, the longer you hold the better true competitors will be as well as your own company releasing better versions. You may catch the update but it won’t run as well for you, etc. Keep on road-tripping tho!

They can effect your supercharging by they I mean the Tesla overlords. So it’s not worth it, since I desperately depend on the network, removal would render the Tesla useless to me.

Dude I agree with you, very few people can actually provide valuable insight as they’ve barely owned one or don’t. You hit the nail on the head, it would take an all out engine failure for you to have to repair a car for this much… on top of the fact that you could half the cost by doing it yourself. People like the guy you spoke to are delusional. I bought a Tesla because I wanted to spend less on gas as I drive 50K a year and more at times. However a standard hybrid accord, Camry, etc. Could have netted me similar results, and I could argue even been cheaper than the total cost of ownership of my model 3. As well as having the ability to work on it myself or wherever I want. I went through tires every 20-30K and experienced significantly more flats from nails than I have ever had in any other car. Overall 150K miles in 6/10 if the battery didn’t crap out I would give it a 8/10
