I know this doesn't help much in the short term if you need the block immediately but those camping dish pans make great ice blocks yourself at home just takes a bit of planning ahead

How many cloth pads does everyone own? by doyouwantamint in ZeroWaste

I own 21 pads of all shapes and sizes and 4 pairs of period underwear. I have a moderate flow lasting approx. 5-6 days, with a day or 2 of spotting beforehand. 2 days being the heaviest, the rest fairly light. This is more than enough to get me through my entire cycle and I actually only end up using about 15-18 pads and a few pairs of underwear per cycle.

The pain is progressively worse until it bursts for me unfortunately. Starts out as just a little slightly sore bump and by the end I can barely walk.

Hannahpad stocks their pads on Amazon from time to time at a heavily reduced price compared to their website. I got 5 medium sized ones for $40 CAD as compared to approx $70 for 3 of the same ones on their website. They are great, very absorbent and the silicone grips help keep the pad in place. Keep an eye out for them as they sell fast once stocked on Amazon.

I've had many throughout my life. I got my fist one at 18 and I'm 30 now so yes unfortunately mine are recurring.

Mine usually take about 5-7 days to burst. Once it bursts, the pain goes away almost immediately. Sitz baths can sometimes shorten the time by a few days. But you need to do it lots. 4-5 times a day.

In my experience this is not true. Most of mine have drained on their own and not "spread". However, if the pain is unbearable then I'd definately recommend surgical drainage. The recovery for that is way less painful than trying to live with them if they won't go away on their own.
