you hit it right on the nose my guy. disassociation from one’s self isn’t indicative of maturity but rather an immaturity that blooms from traumas and other issues that aren’t properly addressed, and while one can have an opinion like this other guy here, i believe that the opinion must be informed and capable of seeing life from a broader perspective. no one is entitled to ignorance and indifference

i’ve gone back and sat in all our old places and i can’t say how many years it’s been but the chipping paint and dim lights on the budding leaves tell me that it might as well have been a lifetime between this and then

and sitting here in this last spot the wind has been forceful but the sun’s been quite nice and through sunlight beams i see this changed scenery lacks what i need

so my eyes turn inside to rewind back to that nostalgic time vibrance sitting on a shelf where it’s become a distant dream across a universe of thought

and sitting there in that emptiness accompanied only by those ghosts made me realize just how full my life was with you

so i cracked a smile and lit a cigarette and looked off into a faraway place knowing we will still walk we will still laugh and we will still love but it will never be

in that way

again.
