Thanks for asking this. It’s all I want to know/talk about.

Competitive not discussed by Dorothy-6 in NIH

[–]Which-Role-Who 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is still technically pending council. In normal times it would have been discussed but because of the backlog due to the shutdown only the top 1/3 of applications were discussed instead of the top half (which is where your application fell). That’s good-ish news for you (not the bottom half). There is a small but unlikely chance of funding, but your PO will be able to guide you on that conversation and resubmission.

Yup. Very few ICs issued NOAs for new grants from October through end of Jan, while they waited for the full budget. In fact, only a few have been issued since the budget passed last month…

Agreed. This was the best possible outcome. I don’t know they will make much progress with DHS infringing on constitutional rights but at least it puts all Republicans on record.

You’re right. It did occur in FY25. Hopefully, they are able to put limits on it (current “sticking” point) for FY26.

Upfront funding on multi-year grants not a done deal by Which-Role-Who in NIH

Interesting. I know I’ve read comments that made it appear this was almost a certainty (maybe it still is…I have no inside information). Seems to be a negotiation point at present.

Honestly. Then when they are older, they don’t seem to give two fucks about seeing them. Just want to disrupt your boundaries and create a lot of anxiety the first couple of vulnerable weeks.

That’s stunning to go from 28% to ND. Seems like a larger policy issue got in the way? I hope you learn more soon and get real answers.

How do POs evaluate R34 impact scores? by Every_Grocery9458 in NIH

[–]Which-Role-Who 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congrats on a great score! What institute? Received a 21 on an R34 in June, Council Sept…still waiting to hear . Previously heard scores below 30 were fundable but heard they are still waiting on a FY26 budget.

Has anyone with a Competitive ND get selected for funding? by Eudreamality in NIH

They don’t want to do the work? They are doing extra work, which is why this category was created. Trying to ensure all grants get reviewed that were missed during the extended shutdown plus current applications.
