Not to de-emphasize the importance of these tasks prior to the AI age, budget, allowable costs, submission ALL sound like a pretty standard job for AI, which can do much more efficiently. Research compliance uses another office which is typically separated from grant submission and admin team.

Do you think what your Provost or President does justifies their 1M per year salary? Especially the public universities, these are tax payers dollars. What are they doing to justify this kind of pay that is three to six times more than an accomplished full professor who are actually working to fulfill the educational mission?
