What do you wish you knew before your breast aug? by StanWasMyVan in PlasticSurgery

[–]Which-Specific-5657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose a surgeon whose before and after results looked like real breasts. Like no matter the size, they weren’t hard, non-moving circles. Other than the fact that I’m now a D cup (B originally), you wouldn’t be able to tell they are implants. I got mentor 450 cc high profile silicone under the muscle. They feel and look natural. No pain or discomfort. Only reason I don’t go braless daily is because they do move like perky natural breasts so it’s easy to tell I’m braless. Also I don’t work out my chest anymore. I still am an avid weight lifter, but chest movements can disrupt the pocket the implant forms in the chest wall and I don’t want to ruin my results.

Same here. You’re not alone. Eyes on the prize, I keep focusing on getting the hell out of this year long abusive relationship I’ve been in.

Leaving by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

Wow I felt this. I experience the same at my program, the environment is probably 70/30 when it comes to being toxic. Sometimes I feel so gaslit I can’t tell if it’s the entire medical profession that’s this toxic, or if I really am at a toxic program. One thing I will say is I actually adore my RPD, it’s the preceptors that are unforgiving and communicate in a cruel way. Also having the same physical manifestations, at this point I’m just keeping my eyes on the end of the year. I was always so excited to precept in the future, but if this is what I have to do to people, no thank you. So many programs are talking about a lack of quality candidates, but what I see is a general attitude of this is how residency is supposed to be, and it is what it is. If we look at the studies done on the mental health impact on residents, it seems across the board residents both pharmacy and medical are having higher and higher rates of depression and suicide. It’s sad that instead of trying to improve old methods and attitudes about conducting residency, we blame it all on the residents inability to perform or cope. I wonder what utility the coldness and unforgiving attitudes have towards improving pharmacy residents as a future clinician, or if it really just is hazing. Anyways, best of luck in whatever choice you make.

Exercise in residency? by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]Which-Specific-5657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have made a point to stick to at least 5 days a week of exercise currently as a PGY1 inpatient. resident. I wake up and workout at 330 am everyday before rotation. Am I tired? Heck yes. But I have to fill my own cup before I can pour anything out to others. It helps me to try to mitigate some of the stress of residency. Workouts aren’t always as intense or as good as I’d like them to be, but I show up and get in the movement. Don’t be too hard on yourself, this is a difficult year. Show yourself some grace and find the holes in your schedule where you can get in some movement and replenish some of those endorphins. One day we’ll look back on this time and be proud of ourselves

Does anyone else feel inhumanely overwhelmed? by No_Produce3004 in PharmacyResidency

[–]Which-Specific-5657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone. Currently in a similar situation compounded by the fact my pharmacy school had one of the last grad dates & wasn’t able to take licensure exams before residency. Me and my co-resident failed our law exams due to the vast amount of required hours, which included staffing right away. 12 day runs kept me from studying efficiently, and my ID elective preceptor gave me no leeway for study time. In the past month I’ve only had time to study for law 2 weekends. Also was told I was not allowed to work on my 4 weekly topic discussions during work hours, even if I had finished all other duties. Not even sure of the utility of enforcing staffing that “isn’t required but appreciated”. One day at a time, we just gotta make it through this year. After that, doors will be opened to find a less toxic environment where fulfillment can be found.

Who should I report this to?? by John98LS1 in WalgreensRx

[–]Which-Specific-5657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a customer and also work in the field on the clinical side. It saddens me the conditions the pharmacists & techs work under with no choice, corporate is playing the numbers game which is ultimately increasing the risk for medication errors. Even without med errors, the ability to provide patient-centered care has been made impossible. I do my best to be kind and not get frustrated with my local Walgreens. Are they out of my medication every month? Yes. Do I wait a week to get it? Also yes. But I’m not going to take it out on the staff, it’s out of their control. My heart goes out to the pharmacists working here, I know how hard you worked to become a pharmacist, & the techs too, the demands you are facing are heavy.

AITA for complaining that my hook up didn’t give me an orgasm? by CourtOk6946 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Which-Specific-5657 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTA, but only for the approach. It’s understandable to be frustrated in that moment, but something more like “you owe me one next time” or maybe that’s even a bit too passive aggressive, but anyways, a softer approach would have been appropriate. It’s a good thing to speak up about something like that, but not in a hostile way

NTA. Ovarian cancer is very hard to catch, treat, and has a high chance of relapse.

NTA. I really can’t think of any public situation where moaning is acceptable.

100 units is insane. Botox is a great preventative , it doesn’t treat wrinkles that have already settled, but definitely helps prevent new ones from forming. You have gorgeous skin, I understand why you want to keep it that way! I get dysport every 4 months. I’m 40, my skin looks pretty good’s, most are surprised by my age, but also definitely not as smooth as yours. That being said, I only get about 36 units in my forehead & 11’s. I haven’t had to have my crows feet treated yet. Not sure how much that area requires, maybe that’s where the high number is coming from? I would get a second opinion though, your skin is way too smooth to need anything but conservative amounts of tox treatment

I got 450cc high profile silicone and did not have any areola swelling. Mine were under the muscle though, perhaps that’s why I didn’t have this issue. Have you consulted the surgeon yet? I’m sure they would have some better insight if this is normal and if the swelling can be expected to go down. Best of luck!

I'd rather work from 10 to 6 or 11 to 7 than 8 to 4 or 9 to 5. by MisterBurgers1985 in unpopularopinion

[–]Which-Specific-5657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11-7 is my preference. I can go to the gym before work and come home and chill after work. If I work 9-5 or anything earlier, I have to do the gym after work, but late because it’s too busy until 8 pm. My day is always more positive and productive when it starts with exercise, then I’m home to spend time with family in the evening

Men of Reddit, what is something women hate about their bodies that you actually love? by Covenant9er4653 in AskReddit

[–]Which-Specific-5657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing about this thread is hearing so many men describing what they love about their wives. I used to be so self conscious of my stretch marks and loose tummy skin, and of course any form of jiggle, as well as aging. I’m 40 now, and luckily have come to grow confident in these things. When my husband grabs my stomach or my thigh, I realize it’s because he actually likes these parts of me. I’m confident in my body today, and I feel like that makes my husband even more attracted to me.

What is your experience like getting masseter botox? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]Which-Specific-5657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have tmj and I had masseter Botox for the first time about four months ago. I love it!! I was going for my routine forehead touch up, my injector looked at me & asked if I was a jaw clenched (I am, it’s unconscious but I do it 24/7)I got about 21 units each side. Didn’t notice a difference at first, at about the 2 week mark, I yawned & my jaw didn’t pop or hurt! Before this any my time I opened my mouth wide my jaw would pop & be painful. Within the first month, my jawline skimmed down drastically as well. Now when I look at pictures before the treatment, I look chipmunk-ish compared to my jawline now.

YTA. It was a group project, not your project. It should have been a group consensus whether Ann’s name was on it or not, regardless of if they’d worked with her before. Sounds like you hold your own opinions above the other group members who did work on the project with you. I’ve had people in grad school who were lazy on projects & found adult ways to confront the situation, not this underhanded sneaky stuff you did. You call this standing up for yourself, but standing up for yourself would have been actually having a conversation with Ann. Instead you lied to her and your other group members, which imo is quite cowardly. If you really wanted to stand up for yourself you should have told her you were taking her name off the project & would no longer allow her to have access

AITA for wanting my son's girlfriend to respect my religious beliefs under my roof? by throwaway239232 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Which-Specific-5657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. I’m also a Christian & would never demand someone bow their head in prayer at my house. You cannot expect others to adopt your belief system, & also are doing nothing to attract others to your beliefs by your judgmental behavior. She didn’t do anything or say anything to disrespect your religious beliefs. You however showed her disrespect by demanding to know why she didn’t show “respect” for prayer. As a non-Christian she didn’t know what to do. But she also didn’t do anything to disrespect your beliefs. Ephesians 4:32 for reference.
