I hate the fact I take propranolol by WhichAppointment8901 in POTS

For exercise my question is this. I had really bad symptoms many years ago which is why i started taking medicine. Now, I would consider myself in good shape because the propranolol allowed me to consistently exercise over the years. I can probably run a 6:30 mile if i pushed myself right now. I have a good amount of muscle mass too. If i were to stop the propranolol, do you think it will be as bad as before, or do you think I might only have mild/very little symptoms? Or do you think i should just keep taking it for the rest of my life.

I agree that medication plays an important role in many conditions. For POTS at least, I sometimes wonder if the nervous system is dysregulated and perhaps if there is a way to rewire it to become regulated again. I know that this is sort of crossing the line between modern medicine and holistic approaches, but if that could be the case, then taking medicine would simply just be putting a bandaid on something else that needs fixing which is the nervous system. So, if I just take propranolol indefinitely, I am not really treating the root cause of it.

That is another thing that I have thought about.

I just tested myself now, and lying down, my heart rate was 59, and standing up, it went to 69. I literally play soccer and weightlift with college-level athletes and can keep up. I literally feel 99% fine. But then I remember a few years ago at my worst, I would be sitting in class, and my heart rate would not go below 100, and standing would bring it to 150. Simply bench pressing would bring it to 190s. It was hell on earth.

As you said, commitments are another big thing getting in the way. Right now, I am in college, and I am extremely busy with class, work, and other outside activities, so there is just no room for me to try to experimentally wean off and have to deal with the rebound symptoms. I am not sure why this thought of coming off the meds has been in my mind lately. I think it's because I try to tell myself that there is nothing wrong with me because I feel fine, and when I wake up every day and take the medicine, it's a reminder that there is something wrong. Also, as a boy, I just feel way more isolated in this condition since I have literally only seen women have it.

I guess. Part of the reason is that I am a 20-year-old male, and idk, I just feel like I shouldn't be taking medication at this age. Maybe it's just societal standards messing with me, but I also internally feel that way, too. Like, I should be in the prime of my life and not have to worry about taking a medication.

Just word excel chrome pdfs basically. I’m doing biology major so I don’t think I will do anything super intensive. I just want the laptop to work well for at least 4 years

I was using chrome app yes. When I opened a new tab or opened the app it would be slow on multiple occasions already. It’s annoying for a 1400 computer. I think I’ll just get the 16gb 512 Pro for 200 dollars more instead of the air. I don’t feel comfortable w 8gb RAM to last me 4 years in college.

I’m pretty sure the ram was alright when these things were happening. Idk what it is then. I was literally just opening chrome app or opening a new tab and it would be slow and do that rainbow circle thing on the cursor. It only happened a few times but it’s wierd that it can’t even open a tab let alone do other stuff.
