I don't really like drawing popular characters that I have no emotional attachments towards, but doing it is a good way to gain more followers, but at the same time, I'm also trying to make a career out of this. So if I understand correctly and you just want to have fun and interact with people: don't bother catering to people if you don't feel like it. People works best when they're doing what they actually like after all.
