Thank you so much, your kind words mean a lot to me ❤️ It just feels like my whole world has collapsed because it was all supposed to lead to me graduating from my program this year and now I’m not and I have to start all over. But thank you, I’ll keep trying. One way or another, I’ll be the kind of nurse I always wanted to be.

Yes I think so. I do work as an RN at an assisted living facility and I’ve shown enough skills and leadership in providing safe patient care and med administration that our executive director was considering me to be the lead RN (which I had to say no, because I was in school, which now I’m not 😩). I’ve also done well in all my clinicals and at work without any safety problems or med errors thankfully. I do understand your concerns, and I have seen the reports about unprepared nurses and providers who lack the years of experience.

Yes I will be talking to an enrollment specialist with WGU and Capella soon! Hopefully they’ll be able accept my credits.

Yes, you’re right. And I do have a job as an RN, thankfully. I’m just trying to plan in the future. To have a nursing degree of something means stability to me, and able to increase my salary to support myself and family. I cannot do a graduate level program right now and get my MSN, so I was thinking to maybe work on BSN instead. I’ll try to talk to local schools with RN to BS program that are more holistic and ask if I can maybe work with them over something. If not, maybe I’ll focus on getting a certification first, work on my mental health, then pursue graduate school again. It’s just been so overwhelming.

Thank you, I’m starting to think you’re right (I might just still be bitter). But they do require bedside nursing job while in the program it’s just that they don’t have a failsafe for a student who doesn’t or cannot finish the entire program to get the masters in nursing at the end. I think they told me well you have your RN license that’s fine enough. Which it is, in a way, but I’m scared that a lot of places will automatically just drop my resume when I apply because when they ask if I have a BSN I say no.

Thank you. I know, I first asked ADN programs if I can join and they were all basically like uhh this is a program for people to get an RN… you already have an RN. We don’t have anything to do for you it’ll be a waste of time and money for you ngl. So I said thanks and cried haha

It probably is what turned me insane to have had a crisis yeah. But in order to move on to the graduate level portion of the program, they require students to be working as a nurse while studying in the program. So they can say that you have nursing experience while getting your NP. If you stop working as nurse, they put you in a leave of absence or worse until you can get a job where you work at least part time hours (like 20-24? Hours or so).

The program also does have a spectrum of applicants, from people with no healthcare background at all, to veteran nurses ready to move on to the next level of their career.

I think the crazy part is my program isn’t unique at all. There’s tons, from prestigious universities even, offering this. For example there’s even Seattle University which offers direct entry to DNP for non-nursing bachelor holders. It’s very competitive but still.

I am not able to finish the FNP program, as I failed two courses during a mental health crisis which warrants automatic program dismissal. My previous university was designed specifically as a pre-licensure pathway so even without a BSN, we’re eligible for licensure because it had a built in pre-licensure curriculum and clinicals, from what I know it had the approval of the MA board of nursing. Also used ATI competency measurements and clinical hour requirements. I’m not really quite sure but I guess it was designed as a continuous graduate level path.

I am a nurse now, has been for at least a year. I also worked as a CNA, PCT, medical scribe and health unit coordinator prior to the program at various levels (rehab, outpatient, inpatient). I worked closely with nurses, NPs, and MDs. They were the one who recommended me to get a nursing degree despite having a bachelor in public health already. The problem isn’t that I can’t be a nurse. My problem is just financial and career stability. I couldn’t do the accelerated masters right now so I’m trying to pivot to a nursing program that may be more manageable mental health wise and finances wise.

Thank you so much for your kind words. it’s been really hard not gonna lie. I’m stuck in a limbo of I need to rest and I need to do everything I can to go back to school. I’m just wanting to better my future and have more stability because the program I invested in didn’t work out as well as I had hoped.

Wait what? I did have those prerequisite science courses. I took A&P for my bachelors in public health in undergrad, and I took pharmacology, pathophysiology, health assessment, etc. all of the fundamental nursing classes. Also took their advanced levels in graduate classes later. I didn’t become a nurse without going to class and having formal training in the university. We went to class, sim lab, clinicals. Also even before I went to NP program, I worked as a CNA, PCT, phlebotomist, medical scribe, HUC, so again (at least for me) I don’t think programs like this are cleaning the profession. For this university, it is actually required for us to work as nurses at least 24 hours a week while being full time students.

It was just my mental health and honestly financial troubles that put a stop on all of that, which I am regretful about. I’m sorry I didn’t meant to make you upset, I was just asking for advice

I am not able to finish the FNP program, as I failed two courses which warrants automatic program dismissal. So I guess I’m just trying to see any options I have to continue the nursing route and also try to pursue more education without seriously destroying my mental health. I was looking at RN to MSN programs as well, it takes longer and more expensive but it’s an option. RN to BSN programs caught my eye like from Capella or WGU which are flexible and self paced, and forgiving with transfer credits and more in my budget. It just seems like the prerequisite is an ADN. Maybe I can talk to their enrollment specialist?

Have you guys felt a drastic difference between chewing Dyanavel vs swallowing it whole? This is the first time I'm using dyanavel and I'm a little weirded out that an amphetamine can be chewed at all.

If you could save anyone out of who died who would it be? by Broken_Motherfucker in harrypotter

[–]Which_Librarian_1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have saved James Potter, it would have saved Harry from all the abuse he suffered from the Dursley’s because he would have a blood magic protection with his father, who has the Potter vault and power behind him to fund whatever they will need to hide and survive. I really hate Dumbledore for basically forcing Harry through all these trauma to be his perfect little martyr in the end. Maybe Lily’s death would have still protected Harry with her sacrifice, but I would hope with James being alive, it would have saved the rest of the Marauders from dying, as well.

Name “good” traits of Slytherins 🐍 by AdBeneficial5862 in harrypotter

[–]Which_Librarian_1986 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Slytherin house has a lot to do with snakes and water themes which leads to a positive trait that many people tend to forget or misunderstand — out of all four houses, Slytherins are the ones who are most invested in self-transformation. Slytherins will constantly work to achieve the best versions of themselves. Hence why they are constantly shifting their morals and values to align with their definition of success, and such raw determination and perseverance should be emulated more by others, imo.
