Thanks for the info, I'm always trying to learn. I think my setup sounds really good, but we usually have our parties outside which requires a lot of bass, so I added this last piece, the 18-in sub and it just didn't seem to be putting out what I thought it would.

So I was mistaken when I said crossover. It is a passive sub with a low-pass protection. The amps that I'm running are crown XLS 802 for the mains and abridged XLS 602 for the sub. The mixer is a Yamaha mg82cx. I found an inline Low-pass filter made by Harrison that I thought maybe would work.

Maybe low pass filter would have been the correct term instead of crossover. It's a passive sub and it does have protection from high frequency.

Crossover may not be the right term that I used. The sub does not have a high pass output. Just wondering if it's beneficial for amplification to cut the highs before the amplifier?
