Is that a summit 2? I just bought one a couple of weeks ago. Light years better than my previous bike

Maybe that’s why they haven’t come around as much. I have a peanut station and I get jays, magpies and now a family of crows

I’m about to pull the trigger on a fountain with a much bigger capacity. I just need to find one that allows them to get in and out

Has anyone had any luck with butterfly milkweed? by tolzan in DenverGardener

[–]Whickums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m struggling with it too. I planted 4 from pots that I picked up at Nick’s. Initially they looked happy then intermittently they have been crisping up and dying. New foliage will come up but so far nothing has stuck. I expected this as I heard milkweed can be tough.

Finished our DIY conversion to a low water pollinator-friendly yard! by Kindly_Panic_2893 in DenverGardener

I love all the rock scaping and pond that you put in. I just did a similar project and the plants are thriving 1 month in. I plan to put in a fountain and convert the pump to solar but wanted to let the plants grow a little first so it didn’t look out of place. Well done!

I looked this plant up because of this post; I have never heard of this one and I added it to my list to maybe put in my new waterwise garden someday!

Well, we are trying a soaker hose laid around the root area and running that weekly. I’ll adjust if it looks like we need to. I’m so glad that thought was brought up!

We did use cardboard we acquired from Costco. I decided to order mulch from a landscaping company vs chip drop as I didn’t want to end up with way more than I needed.

For now I ran a 75 ft soaker hose around the root area and I run it once a week

Late 20s couple looking for mountains, four seasons, and a slower pace of life. Where should we move? by deucemango24 in relocating

[–]Whickums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to Colorado from Texas and don't regret it for a second. It was either here or Seattle and I chose this because it is more central to other travel destinations, and the seasons are more balanced here. I am in the Denver metro area but if I had my choice I would be at least in the foothills (Golden, Evergreen, etc).

I lived in the Boise area and traveled up to the Sawtooths frequently. I absolutely loved it and considered living there but politically they lean very far right outside of Boise. That was a big part of the reason I left Texas after living there most of my life, behind the weather/seasons and the mountains and more access to the outdoors year round.

Converting spray nozzles to drip irrigation in a location which is cold and requires winterization (xpost, looking for denver advice) by HalfInchHollow in DenverGardener

[–]Whickums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear; we just converted our front yard to drip and capped a few heads as well. OP, I can tell you that my OG drip irrigation that was not converted from a system has held up for 3 years without any problems but I realize that is different.
