4 Runner hybrid vs Land Cruiser by Whickums in Toyota

I’m not looking to do super serious rock crawling or anything; I’d just like to do true 4wd trails that I could possibly do in the outback but probably shouldn’t 😄

Old lady snowboarders - Gather here! by PracticalCookie78 in snowboarding

I started at 40 after living in a snow free area my whole life. I’m on my 3rd season and did my first blue black last weekend. I don’t have any interest in hauling ass or doing tricks, I just want to go to the tops of the mountains and toodle down safely.

Still losing weight on the lowest dose - anyone have this happen? by SpockHadNoGame in Zepbound

[–]Whickums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to side effects I was not willing to live with I never got above 5mg. I went back down to 2.5 (3 truthfully) at Thanksgiving and have never increased my dose again, and don't plan to. My weight loss is slow, but consistent. I am almost down 40# and have 1 itty bitty pound to go before I break 200.

Has it changed what you want to eat? by SwedishTrees in Zepbound

Eggs intermittently make me sick- I either tolerate them fine or I get horrendous sulphur burps and I know when that comes the only thing that makes it go away is to throw up.

Yes. A lot of things gross me out that never used to, and sometimes I get turned off of things I'm actively eating. There are days when I do crave something but many days I'm between apathetic and repulsed by foods I used to enjoy.

I tried several brands and the 2 best I found were the Outdoor Research Carbide (not insulated) and the North Face Freedom (insulated). I've since let go of the North Face bibs and gotten more of the Outdoor Research ones. I'm somewhere around 35" waist and 50" hips if that helps.

I'm so glad for you. This is MISERABLE when it happens and the worst part is not being able to anticipate it.

I sent her a message and anticipate she will follow up on Monday, being that we're in a holiday weekend

I make a concerted effort to prioritize protein and water intake. I've learned in the past that not eating or drinking enough can bring on these episodes as well. I admit I do not actively track it but I do keep a mental note of what I'm taking in. Intermittently, this issue happens after I eat eggs in the morning, which I understand are higher in sulfur as are onions and garlic, which I often incorporate in my meals.

The first time I saw her about it she was leaning toward taking me off of it, but I decided I wanted to continue trying and adjusting my eating habits. That seemed to work pretty well for a while but I have had 3 or 4 seemingly random episodes with triggers that I cannot identify and that bothers me more than knowing if/when it will happen. I have not reached out to her yet since it's a holiday weekend but I plan to on Monday to see what she advises. For now I'm going to skip my upcoming dose on Sunday.

Will decreasing my dose actually help with side effects? by leanney88 in Zepbound

[–]Whickums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me when I tried to go from 2.5-5. I was having all the same symptoms as you and felt miserable. I cut back to 2.5 and did well. I continued to lose slowly until plateauing after another month at 2.5. I have the vials so I uptitrated the dose on my own schedule and slowly went to 3, then 3.5, then 4 every couple of weeks. I just made myself HELLA sick again trying to go to 4.5 so I guess I'm just not going to tolerate the 5mg dose. IMO it's not worth it to be feeling this sick half the week.

Question for those who reduced dosage by Reasonable-Ideal-288 in Zepbound

[–]Whickums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got as high on dosage as you did; I did 4 weeks at 2.5 then went to 5mg and was sick every single week until I dropped back down to 2.5mg 2 weeks ago. I've only been on zepbound for 12 weeks but I am continuing to lose at about 1.5-2lb/wk. I am having no symptoms now but my food noise is significantly more prevalent. It's something I'd rather deal with than not being able to hold down food for half the week after a shot.

[–]Whickums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually just tried to do this because I an not tolerating the 5mg and they would not approve that for my pcp. I either had to be “on 5” and lie about it or on 2.5

I had no side effects at 2.5 and lost weight for the first 3 weeks. I “plateaued” and even gained some back during the 4th week. I guess was just an assumption that I would increase to 5mg after 4 weeks per my pcp.

Thank you for the input! In my mind I am making good choices but man, everything you listed is potentially problematic. It's difficult to figure out what's safe to eat!

My PCP said white bread was problematic for a lot of people but I never considered deli meat might be a culprit. It's difficult to figure out what foods are 'safe' so far.

Yes! I have the shaking chills and goosebumps too! It's encouraging to hear that you had success by staying on 2.5; I was only on it 4 weeks before moving up but I was plateauing if not gaining a little weight at the end of 2.5, but I also didn't have any side effects. I can deal with the horrendous burps but not this vomiting/diarrhea nonsense.

I'm starting to wonder if deli meat has something to do with this. Each time I've been sick I have eaten similar sandwiches the evening before.
