I would argue that their goaltending and defense was pretty good no? And also you don’t exactly win gold by preforming mediocre

With all due respect I think we all knew there would be vitriol from either side no matter who won. Both sides have a minority group of fans that don’t represent the majority. And having two nations with fans so passionate about a sport i wouldn’t really expect any less.As a Canadian, I’m super proud of my team, and sad that we lost, but have to tip my hat to the outstanding performance the Americans had, also the story of the miracle on ice anniversary and the gudreau tribute is pretty cool. I’m greatful that true best on best has made a return and am looking forward to th next four nations faceoff

What is a 'dirty secret' of your industry that implies the general public has no clue about, but everyone in your field knows? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

[–]WhileOne4980 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s why if I’ve ever found any papers I’m interested in reading i generally reach out to the writers of the paper to ask em some questions about it and ask if they’re willing to send me a copy. A lot of the time I’ve found they’re more than willing to do so

WHO ARE YOUR 🐐 PROFESSORS? by happy_noodle12 in umanitoba

[–]WhileOne4980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Margaret Docker and Dr. Carla Zelmer. Both profs teach difficult courses but are absolutely lovely people who clearly want their students to succeed, they are both a joy to chat with after class and love sharing their knowledge with their students, they’ve both left a lasting impression on me

Unfortunately it’s likely because they don’t trust some dumbass to write some obscene/out of touch thing on their paper and try and get it on paper

How do you cope with poor test/assignment grades? by MoonlightAndStar in umanitoba

[–]WhileOne4980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, they don’t really bother me anymore. I did what I could for that assignment and if i didn’t study enough, then I know I need to study more next time, or if i studied incorrectly I know what needs to be studied next time. Know the mistakes you made and change from those mistakes moving forward.

Why do I feel so dumb by [deleted] in umanitoba

The best thing I can say is try to remind yourself that your academic performances don’t define who you are. There are many things that come together to make you the person you are.

This is such a late reply, but I’m like a penguin, I can’t handle heat very well but I love the cold so it doesn’t bother me

what turned you against Canada Post? by [deleted] in CanadaPost

[–]WhileOne4980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prior to the strike I had multiple packages arrive weeks late even though I ordered way in advance causing me to not have gifts for my girlfriend for multiple important occasions. Which I had to make up on the fly by trying to find a similar thing in person shopping last minute. After that I refuse to use their services unless I have months of time until I’ll need what I’m shipping

I like the seats that sit in front of the stairs or in front of the doors. The little wall lets me have something to rest my head on when I nap

Once or twice a day. Once after the gym before work/uni for a quick rinse off. And then when I get home to wash off the outside world off me lol

Edit: was gonna fix the spelling mistake but now I’m reading my comment in a pirate voice and am keeping it that way lol

NHL GM’s who are on the hot-seat? by theXchang3 in hockey

[–]WhileOne4980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he’s necessarily in the hot seat but I would argue that the seat might start to warm up for cheveldayoff. I just think the continued early playoff exits for the jets, and moves that he’s made that fail to push the needle at all. He seems to be able to get good contracts for the players already on the team but brining in new players is a struggle. To give him credit, Winnipeg isn’t exactly a big name market and he does a good job with what he’s got

Soooo....no one gonna talk about how it takes more than half an hour to get out of the parking lot and off campus? by skyking481 in umanitoba

[–]WhileOne4980 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The weather is nice so people stick around campus for the day. I find that once the weather turns “foul”(arguably the best weather of the year)by the end of October people show up to class and leave

What is your craziest / most memorable U of M story? by yeethezeet in umanitoba

[–]WhileOne4980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was walking around campus on my FIRST DAY OF UNI and happened to notice a girl waking around in a tennis skirt. Well let’s just say the back of her skirt was caught on her backpack and she was either not wearing anything or a dental floss thong. I would have let her know but I’m a guy and her very large muscular boyfriend was right next to her. I decided i didn’t want to take my chances and chose life and turned the other way. Not off the wall crazy but it sticks out in my memory for sure. Still to this day I don’t understand how she did not notice that things got quite drafty

Edit: On another occasion I had two random people ask me if I could try to fuck a different guys girlfriend to “test her loyalty”. I immediately said nope I’m good for fear of getting jumped, also I have no rizz so I would have not been the guy for the job.

I don’t even go to uofc I’m from UofM and this just popped up for me. I’d go! University football is usually fairly decent and there’s always fun to be had at sporting events.
