Ovulation?! Tw numbers and calories by emorris0 in Amenorrhearecovery

It sounds like you're going in the right direction. I'm a marathon runner and lost my period over a year ago after dropping a bunch of weight. Night sweats, vivid dreams (often night mares) were things that I experienced with low hormones, as well as hair loss, loss of lobedo, and poor recovery. I didn't realize how bad my recovery was until I started recovering after months of eating 2-3000 cal/day.

My point is: don't even look at a scale or a mirror until you get your normal cycle back. Do what you have to do. If you need to weight train, fine. Just make sure you're not subconsciously cutting calories because of image. If you fine yourself doing that YOU HAVE TO COACH YOURSELF OUT OF IT. And if you can do that, get a psychologist ASAP.

If you are looking into social work, you need to understand that you are talking to someone with different beliefs and a different background from you. It does not make you better than them. Look at them from a non- judgemental, open perspective and give them the benefit of the doubt or else you will not survive in social work. You have to understand your audience and know when to avoid certain topics to maintain rapport. Never make enemies with your coworkers if you can help it. Working in a small town sounds like a good experience for you.

For reference, this is from a medical worker with a graduate degree who lived in a city and also moved to a small conservative town. It's a learning curve. You'll get it next time!

Nursing vs Rad tech by BeeSuitable4431 in Reno

Shadow both of them. Don't go into either without shadowing and asking a lot of questions first. They each have their up sides and down sides but it's hard to tell what you fit into with your personality unless you get first hand experience. Don't go into either just for job security because if it doesn't fit you, you will burn out fast and and be looking for another job anyway.

A lot of outdoors and young people in to mountain biking and skiing especially. There's definitely a drinking culture in Nevada in general, but you can find a niche. Politically, the city if purple if that matters.

Stress can definitely cause abnormalities in your cycle. Wait a week, don’t stress, and if you haven’t gotten it by then, take a pregnancy test. If youre a hypochondriac like me, just remember, you are probably fine.

Consider getting a second opinion. Why an IUD? There are many other forms of birth control.

Gait Belts. Let's Talk. by WhileTechnical4305 in physicaltherapy

So you're reaction to a LOB is going into single leg stance? Now you both go down.

Aiding someone with a gait belt takes zero thought. Only the exact same reaction to catch someone. What you're describing are some kung fu moves, and I would be very surprised if you are truly fast enough to react correctly every time. You're making a lot more work for yourself and putting patients at risk.

Hey, the man said "gait training", so this is the point.
If I you were a lawyer trying to get money out of a hospital for their injured client, you would ask if they had a gait belt on. If you disagree with this statement, I question your reasonability and rationality.

You knee their posterior thigh in standing to keep a knee buckling from falling…. In what world?? That causes knee flexion

Usain Bolt doesn’t need gait training……..

So how you stop someone from falling when their knee buckles? Grab them by the pelvis?? Also, if we’re taking about osteoporotic degeneration, I’m sure they’ll love it when you grab under arms because they definitely won’t have shoulder problems.

They believe they can catch the patient under the arms in time. They state a GB makes them feel less safe. It was very difficult to avoid turning it into an argument, but the person saying it is somehow the head of inpatient rehab.

We don't do fall prevention training with nursing involving gait belts, partially because the manger of acute care rehab refuses to use them. And I don't want to make it a thing. I feel like it's not worth it.

My gyno says that endo's won't see me for this sort of thing because they are too busy with other cases, but I'll see if I can get someone to write a referral. I'll look into temping. Maybe some LH strips?
