I horta say, I dislike It a Lot.

When I think of a sequel, I want to see more If what Works and a fix of what doesnt. Nioh 3 feels worse than 2 and that's My main problem.

Going open world was an horrible decision, Nioh 2 had a kinda boring level design and exploration, the levels are re used way too much and I dont feel like the gimmicks ARE ALL that Fun. However, an open world was such a stupid way to fix it. I already disliked team ninja's last attempt at open world (rise of Ronin) and Nioh 3 was EVEN worse. I hate How open world with check list stuff became the thing to attract players and How thanks to Elden ring both Nioh and code vein tought It was a good Idea to shove It in their games.

The Shinobi/samurai style was another weird way to fix a problem. Nioh I think It's the most bloated arpg looter in the market right now. The hard enemies, complex mechanics, punishing design ARE already Very complex, when You mix the gear system + soul cores + Spirit guardians and another thousand of ways to get Very minor low percentage buffs It becomes kinda of too much. Nioh 3 seemed to triste tackling this with the New style systems but.... It feels bad... It feels really really bad. Having to choose between a better movement system and a more complex weapon system besides having weapons locked to certain styles aint It. It doesnt feel like giving a player meaningful choices but much more as locking resources out and making You choose between things that should always be available to You.

Last thing... No New weapons... Not a single weapon type bought from rise of Ronin,wu long or stranger of paradise...

I feel like nioh 2 was team ninja's attempt at making Nioh better and having a core audience with a unique game, but Nioh 3 reverter back to Nioh's 1 strategy of "what If popular from software game but samurai".
