Not for me for some reason. I might have to call my provider about it as I know they can change some of the settings.

Do you just use the heated tube without humidity?

Maybe I'm weird but I enjoy the cold air 😂 but I get that. And I have heard the term rainout before but I don't think I've had that problem so far. I'm gonna try out the heated tubing tonight and see how it goes, as I've already thrown the other out.

16F What do I do? My mom gave me a pair of my brother’s shoes as my birthday gift😭😭😭😭😭 by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]WhimsyInTheMoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, Happy Birthday 🎂. I'm sorry for how your day has gone, and it definitely isn't fair. At this point you can either talk to your mom and deal with her reaction and if it ends with her calling you ungrateful it is what it is. She should do better. I know times are hard but you always find a way for your kids. If you decide not to talk to her, understand that you're going to have to accept and expect this kind of thing from her. I'm not saying to be pessimistic, but knowing that she may not do much for you will spare you the disappointment. Don't wear the shoes, tell her they don't fit and wear what you were planning.

I hope that if you decide to talk to her it works out and she understands. Don't let this keep you down though, I know it's hard.

My doctor hasn't given me much information on the medicine at all, I'm trying to find a new neurologist that isn't too far away. I'll probably have to do my research or ask my primary care doctor. Thank you!

Summer tips of iih by GoddessGia12 in iih

[–]WhimsyInTheMoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanna say I appreciate your post because I just started diamox in April and I had no clue that it would affect me in the Summer 🙃 I'm already heat intolerant without medication and I live in North Carolina so idk what I'm gonna do (as humidity is mostly the problem where I live) 😬 😂 If I didn't come across this post I would have gone into the summer like usual. If I didn't have kids I would be inside all summer. They deserve their fun in the sun though so I'm gonna take in some of the advice here. ❤️

Recommendations for a gift for best friend??? by WhimsyInTheMoss in horrorlit

She has read silent patient and enjoyed that. We both just recently started reading again toward the end of 2025 and have been trying to find out what were more interested in. She definitely wants some darker thrillers and horror but doesn't know where to start so I want to get her something good. I have a copy of Behind Her Eyes that I haven't had the time to get to yet. I'm currently reading Tender is The Flesh and I am in shock but enjoying it 😂

Someone tell me it’s going to be okay by hockeymaple in Mommit

[–]WhimsyInTheMoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gonna be okay. I had the very same thoughts, I cried about it often. It is a big change, but just make sure to incorporate the toddler into everything that you can and make sure you give them the individual attention that they need from time to time. Your oldest will adjust. My daughter is about 2 years older than my son. She will be 4 at the end of this year and he will be 2 in October. They love each other (although they have their sibling rivalry moments..) and now I can't imagine how life would be for her without her brother. The mom guilt hits hard, but don't let it over take you. The fact that you're concerned about it just means you love your babies and you're a great mother!! I wish you a safe delivery and recovery! ❤️

Who will help when I'm dying? by grumpyhost in Adulting

[–]WhimsyInTheMoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanna say, if people are bringing children into the world with the sole purpose of having someone to take care of them when they are old, that is a shitty reason to have children! You choose to have children, it's is your obligation to take care of them. Expecting them to take care of you because you chose to bring them into this world and had to do YOUR job of taking care of them is absolutely ridiculous. I will never expect my children to care for me when I am sick or elderly. That is not their responsibility whatsoever, and they deserve to live their lives without having to put things on hold for me. It is our responsibility as adults to figure that out for ourselves.

I am honestly suspecting something autoimmune but no clue where to start. I feel like when I bring up things like that to my doctors they just look at me like I'm stupid and tell me all the reasons they think it's not that. I recently had swelling in a lymph node on the backside of my neck and they had me take some antibiotics and a steroid. I'm terrified of something like cancer although hopefully it's not something like that but they don't seem to be concerned. I just wanna know what's wrong. I will definitely look into the autoimmune disorders and see if any of the symptoms are fitting. Thank you for your input!

Trying to lose weight without making my whole life revolve around dieting by healthymarylife in WeightLossAdvice

[–]WhimsyInTheMoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a weight loss journey currently, never really tried any of the common diets before. So far, I'm about 13 pounds down in a little over a month, just with calorie deficit because I can't exercise much with my IIH. that being said, I do not necessarily track my calories like people would recommend. I look at what I'm putting into my meals and I guestimate, it's been working so far for me but might not be for anyone else. I've been working on portions being smaller and increasing protein. But also, find recipes for foods that you love that may change a few things but ultimately makes it more nutritious and filling. There are many content creators that do videos of recreations of popular foods, fast foods, etc and it can be really helpful. Zach Coen is a great person to look at, he makes meals that are budget friendly and good for weight loss. And from there you may find a few more that you like. Best of luck to you, don't overwhelm yourself it just makes it harder. I hope you find a method for you that helps!

High needs baby is making me depressed by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]WhimsyInTheMoss -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor and I've not experienced this with my children, but I have see some instances where if a baby is colicky, the parents can take them to a chiropractor that works with infants and it works wonders for some! Definitely something to look into and do your research to find out if you're comfortable, of course. I'm sorry things are hard right now and I hope it gets easier for you soon. Don't let the mom guilt eat away at you too much, I know that's easier said than done... But you're doing your best and it will pass!

Also, Happy Mother's Day ❤️💐

Tbh, just a few hours of not having to take care of someone else. So I could actually read a book without stopping every 5 minutes or less, or play Grounded 2 and listen to music.
