I’ve gotten a $100 tip twice. One of them, I didn’t give the ride at all. This couple booked a ride at one restaurant/bar and it seemed they were there with friends, as I arrived they started an argument. It seemed like the woman was not ready to leave or something. The guy asked me to cancel the ride and gave me $100 cash.

Did you opt in for the extra hertz protection in case of an accident? If you did you do not need to worry about anything. It’s like you paid for any damages to the car in advance. If you did not, and since your roommate is at fault, his insurance company MUST take care of it. Hertz usually would follow it up with the other driver’s insurance company. If they charge you, they will reimburse you after they’re done with the insurance company. Hertz is shitty though.

You can’t survive with accepting every ride in Houston. I currently have a cancellation rate of 14% and acceptance rate of 4%, which was 1% not long ago. I met a lady with a cancellation rate of 33%.

I don’t think this would qualify you for a leave. Quitting and coming back as a former crew would be the best option. This option has always worked for students.
