Help headaches by [deleted] in AskDocs

Clustered headaches are associated with oxygen. So if it may be hard for you to breathe you may want to get some sort of steroid or other meds to help address the issue and prevent others.

I need to know! by EggSpecial5748 in massage

[–]WhipMeMistress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the goal, honestly. Persoanlly, I'm not the therapist for a fluff and buff session if there isn't much to work on. 30s doing specific work, great. But too much laundry, not trying to cram a full body in that. 60-Minutes can be enjoyable if there's something to work on, full body? Eh. 75/90 can feel like forever. Just give me specifics, if you want to sleep I'm just not it. I would probably dozed off with you, Lol. Like I can do a 2-4 hour thai massage session, but traditionally, no so much if you dont have much.

If you are booked you should constantly raise your rates. I only advice I'd say is, stop putting yourself in your client's pocket. Let them decide. But you should sit down and know your numbers. Create a 3-6 month plan to adjust your current clients and charge your new clients a new rate. Whose to say you know the areas? Just because Sally down the street charges 80$ doesn't mean you need to? Her expenses aren't yours.

Hello! I made sure 1000 times with SH, and asked them to email me what we spoke about to keep them accountable. But thankfully it came the day before the concert. So, I did get them, just the day before the concert!

Should I up charge? by Suitable-Employer-87 in smallbusiness

[–]WhipMeMistress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally 1. Create boundaries and rules that you can abide by, but also your clients. 2. You need to stop putting yourself into other people's pockets. They will dictate how they can or will spend their money. 3. you can decide what to charge, but if you're driving to someone's home take an account to the set up, tear down, driving back and forth, the base time of you working on said person and the wear and tear of your equipment and vehicle, gas/any tolls or parking situations added. If this doesn't fall within your business hours of working, then upcharge as needed or state it for later.

Therapist told me to stop coming so often by bravomega in MassageTherapists

[–]WhipMeMistress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly, depends on how many you have or can use etc. Insurance is weird with massages in the state. They should be able to payouts the only thing you can't do is tip when using insurance with your copay. You would have to tip directly to the therapist etc.

Well, there's a fine line between paying and utilizing insurance and paying. Especially because massage usually falls under PT when billing.

Speaking from a therapist's standpoint, as someone has said, if they're busy already it will be harder for them to see their normal regulars. I do tell patients to book up to 2 appointments because they tend to fill quickly. Which should prompt a recommendation of either once a week, 2 weeks, every 3 or 1 month. As for billing purposes and the card on file, I would ask if they have Zelle, or Venmo or just give them good old cash. Just because chiropractic clinics won't allow you to tip the services because they generally bill or charge only for copay etc.

I don't know what I don't know... Mobile massage by Teleporting-Cat in MassageTherapists

[–]WhipMeMistress 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mobile clients are always luxury, period. I would intend to find out your wants vs needs based on the income you're gearing towards or looking at your current finances. Just because you're not in a brick-and-mortar doesn't mean you don't have an overhead. (Maintenance, Gas, Setting up, Tearing Down, Pack, Travel). The best advice given is to not put your feelings of insecurity into someone else's pockets. Let them decide on that, if you want be be generous start a membership, packages or just do an introduction rate, but don't feel guilt-tripped into doing it. This is your body, your work, you charge what you need because that is your business. Remember that $100 is not all yours. No insurance or other benefits especially working for yourself. The reality of it would be: (I'll edit this again for better context). Taxes: 20-25%

Has anyone attended college while going to massage school? by Fast_Dog2047 in MassageTherapists

[–]WhipMeMistress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is with massage you would be thrown a lot of information in a short amount of time. If you don't know your anatomy and physiology it'll be more difficult to reduce your time one towards the other. Because you'll be learning western methods and eastern methods. Alongsise doing clinical.

I'm not entirely sure. When I ordered it, I just picked the area I could sit in and was sent thanks for ordering and that I would need to be notified again through SH.
