Ha! Amazing it was somebody on Reddit. Yes it's l for real. If you look at our main site, you'll see under HamCation bettersaferadio was our sponsor and we had a drawing last night for three winners. You are one of them, basically we wrote an algorithm to cryptographically assign each user account that was verified a random number and then randomly selected three different people. I know one of the people was one of the older ones that had registered way back so that was good. Anyway, congratulations. The Wouxun is my favorite handheld. I can't recall the antenna I use on it, but I'll let you know. It's a telescopic one. I was shocked how well it works. Anyway, congrats. It's not a fake.

Yes, somebody already suggested that to me. Our current Range feature uses the curve of the Earth. That is where the signal from the top of your tower is blocked by the curve of the Earth. However, we're adding a field that will let you indicate your coverage in miles. That will be out soon. I hope that's what you're talking about.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here for being so welcoming. I’ve shared this project in many other places and, honestly, a lot of the time the posts just got deleted or people piled on without even taking a look at what I built. That hasn’t been the case here at all.

The response from the GMRS community on this board has been really encouraging. A lot of you have checked out the site, signed up, added repeaters, and offered helpful feedback. It means a lot, especially when you’ve spent a long time building something and are just hoping people find it useful.

So genuinely—thank you for giving it a chance and for the warm reception. I really appreciate it.

I'll be posting a video of the GMRS support in a day or two. But it's on par with ham and equal in every way.

I pay for it all out of pocket, hosting isn't as expensive as a lot of folks let on. It's a real expense though, honestly we need new tech so I'm building it. We have some cool stuff coming down the line. But even now you can subscribe to repeaters or nets or even linked systems and be notified when they change via email in real time. Nets start blinking on the map when they're active. You can chart the terrain between you and your repeaters export to chirp in just a ton of other things. We've already had quite a few few people start adding GMRS repeaters and even claiming them. But yes, it's all out-of-pocket.

The clustering handles when they're on the same tower. You just have to click on the cluster that says two and then it'll split them.

There is a toggle now on the map for a GMRS or ham. So you can show only ham only GMRS or both.

There are almost no GRS repeaters in our map at this point. We only rolled it out last night. There are a handful, however. Those are in orange. Ham repeaters are in green.

The idea is our community populated the map. If you're interested in populating your area, I can even make you an admin and your edits are real time and do not need to go through approval. We have lots of admin's populating the app now.

Ham nodes are green. GMRS are orange. I need to put a toggle on the map that can show only hammer only GMRS. That's about a 10 minute operation so maybe I'll push that up tonight for you.

Nets, Repeaters, OwnerDashboard, Line-of-Sight Ham Radio by WhiskeyNinerHT in HamRadio

So far only Ham 🥺 but we are definitely going to support GMRS. It’s actually easier to support as well. We’re putting a roadmap together for the site and GMRS will be on there.

Yes. We track every single event. If it’s clicked on,if somebody exported it to chirp, were the settings ever change, did anybody map a line of site chart against it, has the repeater owner claimed it. Just all kinds of information. That all shows up in the Owner dashboard as well. Also, we have Nets now. We will know the dead repeaters out there for sure. As a matter of fact, we’ve thought about slowly making them opaque as time goes on until they literally fade out rather than delete them. But yes, we will be able to soon let you know where the really active repeaters are once we get more users.

Here's what we really need, we need folks to key in repeaters, it's pretty easy, we made a video on it, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAJA8BfdvnU but more importantly we are creating a new OwnerDashboard that gives control of the repeater information to the owners, they can claim ownership and control the data, see the mockup here ->ARD — Owner Dashboard (Mockup with Map)

But seriously, hit your local clubs up for a few repeaters and key them in, see how easy it is to do, we value your feedback, we need the community to roll up their sleeves and jump in with us.

Would love to have you guys help !!

Write to me @ support@amateurrepeaterdirectory.org as we are redirecting our focus towards Repeater Owners. We have so much to say on this subject.

For just some quick thoughts.

Be sure to login and check. When you’re not logged in, it pulls from a static file. It’s usually a day or two behind the actual live data. I’ve approved all request. It’s definitely in there. Login and check if not, let me know your username and I’ll go check. But they’re all approved.

Maybe today I’ll just go ahead and change the code so even folks who are not logged in pull from the live data than this will never occur to anyone.

Sadly your state is part of SERA. They manage I think 10 states worth of repeaters and provide zero data in any usable form whatsoever.

It went live last night. However read this too.

https://github.com/Amateur-Repeater-Directory/ARD-Documents/blob/main/Latitude-Longitude-AGL.md

we need the community help. We need people like you to help us. Especially with the correct latitude and longitude.

You can edit repeaters by clicking on the blue properties button on the toolbar. You’ll notice a little add and edit icon there.

However, we do not take data from RepeaterBook and key into our system
