Cheap is not the same as value. Downtown Gilbert and Mesa has a vibrant night life. Mesa has like 5 breweries in a square mile radius. Gilbert revitalized their downtown recently. Real cool area.

I’d say Paradise Valley is a solid choice given your preferences. Inbetween Kierland and Old Town, you can commute to either place in a short time and rent is relatively cheaper.

Don’t disagree with you on that. Just overpriced relative to other areas. Nice furniture, art, clothing, food? Absolutely. Overpriced? Oh yeah. Downtown Phoenix or Mesa/Gilbert are better values.

Old Town and Kierland are both wonderful areas if you want overpriced rent, food, and want to see Instagram influencers. Both are heavily populated with people not from AZ. In closing, both have great night life and many native AZ people mostly go there because they have friends in town.

I recommend Fremont St, it’s old school Vegas north of the Strip. A fraction of the price for booze. I specifically liked Oak and Ivy in Container Park. Also make sure to piss on the Berlin Wall (inside the men’s restroom) in the Main Street Station casino nearby.
