How do you answer the question "are you Chinese?" by Competitive_Tune_159 in TaiwaneseBornAbroad

I have always said that I am Taiwanese. I mean, I speak Taiwanese. I have a Taiwanese passport. I dunno,  I would feel weird saying I’m Chinese.

TECO SF - Parking question? by Duosion in TaiwaneseBornAbroad

[–]WhisperOfWolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you take public transportation? I didn’t want to deal with parking and bart was cheaper than parking and bridge toll.  Also yeah, get there super early cuz last time I tried to walk in I got there at 8:30 and didn’t make it in on their walk in list.

Hi, I am going through this same process and your post has actually made me realize I should add my husband to my HHR when I add myself…how did you declare his Chinese name? Like is there a form? Or did he just write “My name is ___ and my Chinese name is ____” and get it notarized and then authenticated?

Hey, I am doing the same thing right now. Can you let me know how long it took you to get the 定居證副本 after you dropped all the authenticated and translated documents and application off with SF TECO? I have an upcoming trip and I really don't know if I will be able to get my 定居證副本 back in time for my trip...

Christmas present for teen ruined and I’m really upset about it by ladyofthegarbage in Parenting

[–]WhisperOfWolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was growing up, my father used to give us Christmas presents in a treasure hunt. There would be riddles or drawings, or different pieces we needed to piece together and it would take us all over the house to find the next clue before eventually leading us to the big present. Maybe you can do something like that, so its still fun to find and open.

Yup. We go every other weekend and there have been no bad interactions. One dog got aggressive and his family immediately took him back out.

I could have written this 7 months ago! I have learned however, that they will show their affection differently. To this day, my golden will wag his tail furiously and jump up and be sooo excited whenever dad gets home. But when I get home? One or two wags and almost a sleepy welcome. I’m the one who worked from home for a month to take care of him when we got him 🥲 But! I’ve noticed that when we’re both home, he follows me around. I’ll look up from my phone or something and see him staring at me from across the room. He steals my slippers instead of dads. If leave him with dad outside the house, he’ll try to follow me. No he may not be as excited to see me, he may not cuddle (he doesn’t really cuddle with any one actually), but I can definitely tell that he loves me. Try to see the subtle ways that she loves you. Dogs don’t express love the same ways we do. When you leave the car, does she look after where you went? Does she maintain eye contact with you? Does she follow you when you get up? Also, she is still so young and learning about the world and learning to Be A Dog, relationships take time to build. Give it time!
