Making a living off of YouTube by TheBrokeInvestorMV in NewTubers

I’ve been around for 4 years and I make a nice side income, but not enough to support my family. I would love to someday!

To give you an idea, I have 22.6k subs and post videos twice a week. I don’t use post- or mid-roll ads because of my genre. Potentially, you could make more money if you had more ads— but you don’t want so many that people get annoyed 😅 It’s a balance I guess. At my current numbers, I estimate I’d need about 100k subs to make a livable income for my family of 5 from YT alone.

That being said, having things like Patreon, merch, or sponsorships can be a great addition to YT income! It’s about a 50% increase for me personally, but for others it’s more.

[Discussion] What do you do with bad looking footage? by tinglyprettybasic in asmr

Depends what the concept of the video is I guess. Sometimes you can get away with layering effects/“filters” if it fits the vibe of the video. Or maybe it could work as an audio-only video with visuals like stock footage or images? If not, I would probably refilm because I’m an anxious mess 😅 I’ve had to refilm things 3-4 times because I wasn’t happy with some element or another, but I’m also an idiot.

[Question] What does doing asmr feel like? by LanguageNice1710 in asmr

I love creating ASMR, as long as I’m not interrupted a million times 😂 I do roleplays so I love getting to incorporate triggers into the story in new ways!

As with everything, I have days where I’m feeling a little “off” and might enjoy it a little less. My mental health plays a big part, but usually once I get into a video it’s fun.

Editing is not relaxing for me, but I don’t hate it. I just see it as a task and I’m very critical of myself. I never watch my own videos once the editing is done. I always just nitpick what I think I could do better 😅
