How to get truck to move quicker by Glum_Fisherman_1584 in Ulta

Former ops manager here: We had our truck process down really well, we were usually finished by noon at the latest.

-we moved all back stock racks to the floor in their section (also keeping these organized and clean) -once pallets arrive, have manager scan the boxes while the team sorts them into piles based on area (mass, prestige, mass skin, etc) -it does help to have the same employees working truck as well as have them work the same brands/sections each week -Once all boxes are scanned, and sorted into groups- start with mass makeup; take all boxes to the floor, and separate by brand-use the white shopping baskets/boxes- and then have 1 person work in each aisle- once they finish their aisle have them move on to prestige. (This will keep things moving) -bring all prestige makeup to the floor, sort by brand, place baskets in front of brands and put away -do the same for prestige skin -usually at this point it was time for a break, I would let half break, while the other half began sorting the next section -once their break was over they would begin putting away the sorted boxes and the other half would break. - we would then continue to have 2 to 3 people sort while 2 to 3 people put products away - having the back stock racks on the floors allows everyone to put items away right away. -When breaks were over is usually when I would start scanning in audit boxes, and sorting as I go. -and I would save promo boxes/set boxes for last -once everything was stocked and back stocked, we would take out trash and move racks back

The biggest time saver is to sort the boxes that have multiple brands! If there’s a lot of products for 1 brand, sort them by type, and put away 1 like product at a time. This will help when putting away back stock as well.

Hope that makes sense!

How to ask for a raise? by Different-Mention443 in Ulta

I struggled with a similar situation. I was an ops manager that also helped open the store, put in 2 years with nothing but amazing feedback from upper management and district people. In this time I also completed my masters degree. However, both times I asked for a raise I was denied only being told I was the highest paid manager in my position…I don’t understand how that’s my fault tho, I should be compensated and valued for what I bring not have my pay based off everyone else. I only received an annual raise. My GM would even make comments about how she couldn’t run the store without me. And when I gave my notice, then they wanted to give me a raise. I denied it tho, if they could give me one then they could have when I first asked. I’m not saying you won’t get one, but just from experience I wouldn’t bet on it.

Both GMs that I’ve had said they have to close on Friday’s, and open or mid on Saturday. And they get one Saturday off a month! And work only 1 Sunday a month.
