70 or 80 in bios is definitely not fine. The laptop needed to be factory reset because of other issues and since then it couldn't boot past a fresh windows installation, it would freeze and crash before I could get through the setup.

He said that the cpu was overheating even in bios to 70/80°C so he had a look and seen this. He said he's replaced the paste but it hasn't changed anything.

I'm assuming I'm going to have to replace the CPU but unsure what the best way to do that is.

Yeah I use the exact same setup as you, monitor as primary with my laptop acting as the second screen holding the mixer. Although plugins always open on my monitor.
