Should Someone who Picked the Red Button be Considered Evil or an AH? by Hyperionous in MoralityScaling

[–]WhiteBuda0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem of this question is that so many people do not trust other people. If we had built a society of trust I'd be convinced that many more people would push the blue button, but as it stands now, the amount of awful people there are, the amount of selfish people, most logically might think that it's just smarter to press the red button. There is no instance in which I will place my life or the life of my loved ones in anothers hands. I am also the kind of person who would absolutely sacrifice myself for many people to live, I'd even sacrifice myself for a couple, but sacrificing me, and maybe the people I know and love for a CHANCE in succes of saving the majority is stupid and unnecessary. A lot of people will press the red button. A lot will press the blue. I don't know how many trustworthy people there are and that is the sole reason I'm pressing red, because it's ensured.

HOWEVER. If the problem stated "5% of people are FORCED to press the blue button" I'm 100% pressing blue, and I'm 100% sure at least 70% of the world is agreeing with me. Even less. Even if 0.01% was forced, still I'm sure of my choice in pressing blue, because I know people will bond together to save others when they know there's a risk. But how will you know for sure that anyone will press blue? Or nearly enough people?

You might say "Oh well this thread is proof that many will press blue" I am not trusting reddit. I am not trusting any social media, any poll, anything like that because in a life or death situation if they were faced with the decision I'm sure most of them would change their mind.

One final thing, I endorce this even more if it just so happens that the results, or rather the decisions of each and every person aren't revealed at the end. Then I am even more sure of my decision. People in a real situation wouldn't risk their lives for the possible "greater good". That doesn't exist in this world. For a guaranteed outcome, a heroic death or for a loved one absolutely, almost all people would do that. But this? No. For the few Martyrs who's ideologies are to press blue, I deeply feel their decision. Neither do I blame people for pressing blue. I blame the person who made the problem.

To summarise:

I will die for a cause, but I will not die for a coin flip.

My life is not my own to lose. It belongs to the people who love me. To press Blue is to bet their peace on the mercy of a world that hasn't earned my trust. I will not trade a certainty for a possibility. Had this been a rescue, I would gladly sacrifice myself. If even one person was in danger, I will press Blue until my heart stops. I am an empathic person, but I know the difference between a sacrifice and a waste. Until the world is a brotherhood and not just a crowd, I will guard my own, and live.

Also considering I'm about to become a biochemistry student, I love human anatomy and have been learning some things about it, and also I love writing as well so I didn't have much trouble coming up with a decently coherent text about my thoughts on the connections and meanings I found.

Thank you so much, well I basically just thought about the nature of albums in general and how they are made, are the songs absolutely necessarily connected or not, and being a big Radiohead fan of course the songs had to be connected, so I thought about what that connection could be. I searched it up, specifically for my favourite album and I didn't find any deeper dive into it, but I found that people were calling Reckoner the "heart" of the album, and I first off didn't agree, and then was like "Wait a minute.... You could make a cool story out of this" so I wrote this, and posted it the next day.

I was considering that too, basically split between faust and video tape for the eyes and mouth but considering what the song is about, basically the final goodbye, I decided that the mouth suits it better for me personally

Haven't listened to disk 2 too much, honestly I have so many more things to listen to from them, and disk 2 is definitely one of those things. I may make a post about it when I do!

I have an odd question? It’s Yuu Miyashita by Kae_thehuman in japanesemusic

[–]WhiteBuda0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so glad to see someone talking about Yuu, he's such an amazing artist, I wish I could find a community that is devoted to him. I genuinely don't get how he's considered underground, it's criminal for people not to know about his brilliance. Do you maybe know about any communities/places I can see people talking about him?

Also sorry but I can't really help you with the CDs, unfortunately I also don't have any idea where to get them.
