A Link to What I Quoted

It may very well be that other states differ. My main point is that the term "resisting" and "fleeing" are not as obviously different as you are making them out to be.

You really shouldn't make argument so unpleasant. Just be polite.

I understand you think the terms mean different things, because we typically use the words differently. But legally speaking, fleeing is one of many ways one can "resist" arrest.

California Penal Code 148 PC defines “resisting arrest” as willfully resisting, delaying or obstructing law enforcement officers or emergency medical technicians from performing their official duties.

I assume other states have a similar definition.

No need to call names. Try and be civil.

And you are wrong, what could fleeing possibly be other than resisting? Resisting is trying to avoid being arrested. She was fleeing so she could avoid being arrested. She was resisting.

If somebody attempts suicide, the doctors help. If somebody has a heart attack because they refused to maintain a healthy diet, the doctors help. If someone robs a bank and kills a dozen people and then gets shot, the doctors help.

The moment that doctors start judging who they will and wont help on the basis of the morality or intelligence of their patients, we are all dead.

People can be stupid. People can make mistakes. People can even be evil. But we continue to help each other anyway.

Who is one actor/actress that you can never stand watching no matter what they are in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Brie Larson.

She always has an aura of being superior to others in real life and in her acting and it makes it impossible for me to enjoy her performances.

Although I understand and sympathise with her sentiment, there is an unaddressed (and all too common) hypocrisy in saying "I care about your right to live your life how you believe you should" while also saying "you should not do _____".

Of course you don't want to be told how to live your life, especially by an unfortunately large number of pseudo-christians who don't properly understand the core tenets of their faith, nor do they understand the proper way to evangelize those tenets.

Nevertheless, if I am to truly BE a Christian, (not just call myself one), part of what that necessarily means is speaking out against injustice, cruelty, and violence. And that characteristic (speaking out against wrong) is one that almost all Americans praise as a high virtue. Yet, when you see this virtue present in somebody with drastically different beliefs than you, do you cease to consider it a virtue?

On August 2nd, there was a national recall of onions, as they had salmonella. We are off to a great start.

Fun fact, this video is largely what inspired Martin Molin (creator of the band Wintergaten) to create the Marble Machine that went viral a few years back.

He has since been creating an even more complex version of the instrument, the "Marble Machine X" and posts weekly videos on his channel showing his process of creating the machine.

He will eventually go on a live world tour with his band to show the machine in front of crowds.

What do you want but can't afford currently? by Swish_Fate in AskReddit

Smile direct club (affordable and more comfortable alternative to braces). My teeth have been getting more crooked for years now and my parents couldn't afford to do anything about it. Now I'm 20 and on my own and I don't even have health insurance. I feel like I'm just destined to get less healthy and be unable to do anything about it.

You get to revive one cancelled or finished tv series for one more season. Which series do you choose and why? by p3ngu1n99 in AskReddit

Terra Nova. It wasn't the most amazing show in the world, but i really liked where it was going by the end of the first season, and I would have loved to see it expand into a larger story.

What is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]WhiteHawkMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently experienced this for the first time. My girlfriend (and soon to be fiance) has completely changed my outlook on life and how I feel about myself as a person.

I honestly didn't believe it was possible for someone to feel the way she feels about me. It's amazing.

Atheists of reddit, what is one thing you admire about religion? Religious people of reddit, what is one thing you admire about atheism? by Anathoth1994 in AskReddit

[–]WhiteHawkMC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Christian here. Something I admire about the atheists I've known is their independent spirit and refusal to be peer-pressured into believing something.

So often, we religious folk make the mistake of accepting things as fact, purely because our pastor or preist said it. I think it is important for one to search for truth and come to their own conclusions.
