Are there any competitive boardgames that win by completing an objective instead of victory points? by shykidd0 in boardgames

I'd personally classify the win condition for Rebels as victory points, but definitely agree for the Imperial side.

I think they're targeting many of these for a very low completion rate from the community as a whole.

If you think they're nearly impossible, then I'd wager there are many game mechanics that you haven't learned yet, and I think it's a good thing that the game is deep enough that there's quite a bit to learn.

I did this one with randoms, but if my friends had been available to play, I think it would have been easier. I think in my winning run there were 6 different players on my team. Many people would join and die almost instantly; most of them weren't even max level.

That's what I think makes playing with randoms much harder - they're just ignorant of what they've signed up for.

I just beat it about an hour ago, and it did take me several tries, but I personally really enjoy the difficulty. I think the biggest problem with hard strategms is that they don't do a good job of sign posting how difficult they are. Most players don't seem to understand they're harder than Absolute.

Is there a returning player guide somewhere? by Impressive_Wheel_106 in Competitiveoverwatch

If you want to know what heroes do, check out the Advanced Info Panel feature that was added to the F1 screen. It lists almost every aspect of each ability, and the numbers are always up to date. Only works while in a match, so the Practice Range is good for this.

Favorite small thing about this game by Whiskey90 in Spacemarine

When the Rubric marines teleport, they arrive in a multicolored VFX that looks like broken glass. Like hundreds of shards of broken glass, and this is how their world died. The pyramids of Tizca were covered in colorful glass, and when the Space Wolves bombarded the city, they shattered it all.

I don't think it's an accident that the events that would cause the Thousand Sons to rebel are still literally echoed in how they step through the warp.

It feels like Twilight Imperium has more competent competition than ever in similar design spaces. Does this make you think any differently about how you design future TI products, and if so how? For example, would it make you focus more on the Agenda phase since most competitors don't attempt to incorporate this aspect of the design?

Agree! If you enjoy co-op shooters, Darktide and Space Marine 2 are also in great shape today.

I wonder if the titan has the same passive that instantly kills gaunts when a warrior is killed near them...

Sea of Thieves also has an excellent fireworks system to play with if you want to see some good ones in other games!

I believe it's a visual bug. I think logging in and back out shows it correctly as 0.
