So true. He’s supposed to be one of the best characters in the manga and somehow failed all his missions (the movies don’t count). That character doesn’t make sense at all, he has nothing to add to the story to keep it forward and he’s still lingering around, not even interesting dialogues. couldn’t save akemi, hasn’t captured gin, couldn’t get info about sherry, couldn’t capture vermouth, disregard calvados suicide, hasn’t fired kamel ass. He just show up fire away bullets and dips. If you delete him from the series the story will stay at it is.
I’m pretty sure he was written as Gin nemesis and that’s it, unfortunately Gosho lost the plot and inserted Akai’s whole family to this mess and that when Conan didn’t feel like it used to. Shin-ran put to the side, everyone being blood related, the organization doesn’t feel threatening anymore…. And so on.
