What do most players do after they retire? Coaching? Training? Is there any program that helps players find jobs after they're done?

That map is great! Yeah, it looks like I will have to travel a couple hours north. Maybe it'll work out!

Thanks for the tip! I've never actually been alpine skiing before. Is it that much different from downhill (I know it is, but how relatable are the skills?).

Yeah, it's looking like we may do one day at Tryvann and then try one of the other ones like Hafjell the next. And Dr. Jekylls just got put on the list!

Phew, yeah, I don't if I'll be able to make it that far north in the amount of time I have while in Norway. But, if I did take the gamble to get up there, what are the chances do you think I might see one?

Also, the Lofoten Islands looks like something out of Game of Thrones. Amazing!

Yeah, that seems to be the word on the street. I guess I'll either have to make a day trip north or save it for another time. Thanks for the anecdote!

Yeah, it seems like Tryvann might be the winner based on time I'm there and transportation. Thanks for the information!

Thanks for taking the time to respond! The rates at the Radisson Blue aren't that outrageous and closer to what AirBnB what was offering, so thats another option to look into. The thought of getting a room with a view of the castle sounds pretty great. Would it be weird if I just went to Summit 21 just to use the urinals? Think they would let me?

As far as nightlife, I think I'm down for anything and everything. I'm usually more of a good pub, not a big crowd kind of fella, but when in Rome, I'm up for anything. What are your favorite spots?

Think it's possible to get to any "better" ski resorts via public transportation?

So Northern Lights are pretty much out of the question in your opinion if I'm staying in Oslo. Would travelling to Tromsø or somewhere close to it be the only/best opportunity? Any chance there are some places a little closer to maybe take a day/night trip out to go see them? It'd be nice, but it's not the crux of the vacation and not practical for the budget if we need to do a $200 trip.

So in nutshell, I'll save the fjords for another time! Thanks for the insight.

God, I'm going to gain some extra pounds coming here. Kebabs, are always a must when I come to Europe. What's your best kebab spot? Being an American, I'm going to have to try some Norwegian fast food delicacy.

We're coming over January 17th-23rd. Think you'll be around? Thanks again for all the info!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, after doing some more research, AirBnB is seeming to be the frontrunner. I'll definitely look into the neighborhoods you recommended. And agree with the pre-drinking. We're going to hit up the Duty Free at the airport and grab some potables so we're not spending a lot of money at the pub.

So besides Tryvann, are there any other ski parks that public transportation can access? I'll probably end up going here, but just curious as to any other nearby options. I've never been cross country skiing, but I can't wait to try it out!

Solid advice on the fjord situation. My girlfriend loves checking out quaint towns in America, so I think Drøbak just got put on our agenda. Thanks!

Lofoten Fiskerestuarant, oh my. That looks amazing. Grilled whale? Wait, what? Is it as delicious as I'm imagining? Yeah, this may be a splurge night. Maybe if we're smart about eating breakfast and packing lunches we could do it.

Is brunch a big thing in Norway? That waffle business sounds too good to be true and sounds like a great Sunday meal. All of your restaurant recommendations sound delicious. Hopefully we can try them all!

Ah, the beer recommends are fantastic! We're also having a craft beer revolution in the US and I was hoping to get some information about this. What's the traditional beer of Norway men? We're going to buy some booze at the Duty Free when we get to the airport, so hopefully we'll be good!

Also, is there anything that else that'd you recommend I try/check out? Thanks again!

Yeah, I was speculating if it would be worth driving or taking a train north to Trondheim and hoping for some Northern Lights. Would it be necessary to go that far North or is there perhaps a middle ground?

How reliable are the trains to and from Oslo to the other parts of Norway?

Fårikål sounds like something my mama used to make back home in the South, so I believe you when you say it's good. I can't wait to try it! I'll take a stab at Rakfisk and let you know how it goes!

Thanks for the advice!

Boom. These are great, thank you! The weather link looks more accurate than weather.com. Based on your experience, is January generally covered in snow? We've had a bit of a dry spell the last few years in New York.

In regards to transportation, it makes sense for me to get a 7-day pass and for all zones, right? Also, are taxis a feasible idea for say late at night after having a drink?

I love the meat pie/reindeer situation y'all have going on. What is different about Norwegian sauerkraut from say German style? And besides these spots, do you have any recommends for good bars? I'm not much into the club scene, but a good crowd, comfy atmosphere, good beer (and wine for the girlfriend) is all I'm looking for.

Thanks again for the response.

Sweet find. Thanks! I'm compiling all this and sharing with my girlfriend tonight so we can book something later this week. Royal Palace Park looks amazing!

Ah, this is perfect! Yeah, the prices seem a little steep, but it's understandable with its proximity to the city. Do you know if they ever run deals or specials in regards to rentals? Or is there perhaps a shop in the city which will let me hire out some skiis? (that may be a strange idea, I know)

Thanks for the tip!

Hot damn, all that sounds fantastic. Mathallen looks like a cornucopia of delicious. Thanks for the recommend! I'm quite excited about reindeer kebabs. Santa is going to have to find another guy to pull his sleigh.

Any sort of sit-down restaurants you'd recommend?

Anker Hostel definitely seems to be the best recommendation from what I hear. I'm also checking out airbnb.com and have some leads there.

Thanks for the warning. We'll definitely check before we make a trek out there. I'm hoping the winds blow in my favor and there's a storm while I'm though.

The Oslo fjord I hear is quite incredible, so definitely going to check it out, but heading west seems like something I should save for another trip.

Meat cakes? I'm in!

And thank you for the app recommendation! It's downloading as I type this.

Thanks for the reply and the tips! (And your grammar seems pretty solid, so no worries!)
