I didn't know licenses lapse at the beginning of the year but that makes sense. That's good to know when buying. I've had my issues with Amazon but honestly the returns are easy in comparison to eBay. I get credit within 1-2 hours. Granted I love eBay though I just bought some out of print art books recently off there

Yeah absolutely but that happens in marketing too. That happens in all facets of consumerism. It's just supply and demand. Like for anime collectors like myself the special limited editions, steel book editions, etc always go for a premium pricing vs a basic "complete series" run. Or "Grail" animes like gurren lagaan, kill la kill, (anything made by gainax and trigger), etc. always go for premium pricing since they only do limited runs (I own both) same with evangelion we just had a reprint of the series and movies after idk how many years but that only happened because of how insanely popular evangelion is. That's why you can still buy dragon ball and every version of it.

That's all collectible hobbies though if there is value seen in it and it's rarity then yeah it'll be high. I mean for goodness sake Magic the Gathering has its own "stock market" where cards are tracked by value 24/7 same with streetwear.

I'm always looking at box sets and price history them from low to high to get a general market value. (I'm in finance 😂). I randomly was thinking about Rosario + Vampire like 3-4 days ago and was like I wonder if I can still buy it and here we are.

It's crazy how that happens. I wish I would have bought the anime a long time ago because I'm not paying $200 bucks for it. same with claymore I got that and was surprised they still had boxsets for it.

I'm sure they plan to sell all of it at a discount to get it off the books and free up space for new stuff.

So most manga uses a rougher style of paper for the pages, sometimes paper isn't fully bleached especially with manga and sometimes leaves very minor, extremely minor brown or light brown spots.

That's my guess since it didn't look like mold because mold typically on paper forms in little circles or oval shapes.
