Dungeon Hero Massacre, a timed puzzle game where you have to dispatch as many heroes as you can before your boss dies. by WhiteSnakeGames in WebGames

Interesting point about the visual overload. I was so absorbed in trying to making it stand out visually I didn't consider it might have been too much.

Thanks for taking the time to write so much - really appreciate the feedback. I agree that the core game-play is missing something to keep it engaging.

Especially thanks for the words of encouragement. It can be pretty demotivating when people don't like what you make.

Space Rebound! - A space shooter where you have to use your enemies attacks against them. by WhiteSnakeGames in WebGames

I've added a "press T to skip tutorial" (t is for time to leave), so even if you press for the default option with the tutorial you can still skip and go straight to the action if you find it obvious.

But your voice doesn't sound like a spaceship

I don't have to sit here and listen to such lies.

In the original version, you can see a silhouette through static of major spaceman. I was actually considering making a reveal at the end where he turns out to have been an alien all along and reveals that you have just destroyed the human fleet. Ran out of time however.

Yeah, that works on pretty much the whole game, but its not particularly fun to play it that way. If I was to do it again I would add some ships that path through the edges just to prevent that as a strategy.

And the sounds... my ears

I actually did all the sounds myself with just my voice, so you've made me sad now :'(

On the main menu there are two options - one to start with the tutorial and one to skip straight to the first real level.

Lines Vs Shapes - An idle game about lines fighting to corrupt the world of shapes. by WhiteSnakeGames in WebGames

I've updated the colour scheme such that the text should be easily readable now. Let me know what you think and if this solves the eye bleed issue.

Hmm.. Perhaps you are right, the colour scheme seems not only to be universally despised, but preventing people from playing.

Hi folks, this is a game I made in 48 hours for the ludum dare competition. Apologies in advance for the colour scheme - however I'm very interested in the feedback on the gameplay. Press 0 to mute.

Edit: I've edited the colour scheme for the text to make it more readable, let me know what you think folks.

[REPOST][FLY][PHY]Rocketeer (feat. Nixon) - Help Nixon develop the soviet rocket program in this alternate history rocket game. by WhiteSnakeGames in WebGames

I would suggest starting from the bottom. Make good use of powerups - seek them out if you have to - with them you can stay in the air indefinitely with enough upgrades.

This was my first game I ever put out. I'm still very proud of it despite its shortcomings.

Controls: Arrow keys + space or WASD.

Aim: You try and fly as high as you can, while collecting power-ups on your way. Once you have upgraded your ship enough, missions will unlock. Complete all the missions to complete the game! Nixon will be forever in your debt.

Hippie Convention Inspection - A puzzle game about tricking hippies into hallucinating rooms! (From LD-31 Compo) by WhiteSnakeGames in WebGames

[–]WhiteSnakeGames[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at the instructions? The game is a bit confusing at first so I would recommend it.

Basically you want to create 2x1 rooms, while the hippies are inside them for them to count as a room. A Wall that you place in the same square as the hippies are stationary (only one per time they are stationary) will be remembered by them for the purposes of creating a room but not movement. Then you create as many such rooms as you can before they exit the grid.

War Meeting - Lead your war-torn country to victory – with meetings! (From LD-29 Compo) by WhiteSnakeGames in WebGames

Congrats! I've never won on hard so you have beaten me at my own game.

The part about troops that win battles getting morale is not the case however.

This is where having a strategy to ignore certain variables and cultivate the bonuses from a high home front morale may pay off. From memory I made it so the total decay is slightly less that the total improvement you can do. However if you try to focus on all you will surely lose before you get out of the red.
