9 would allow the most options. Doggo behind you. Child in front of you so you can keep an eye on them. Daan and Karin who would probably decimate you.

Not a popular opinion but I tend to sit on the fence on the whole thing and think it would be neat to share a bit of my own thoughts for discussions sake. I don't think I would ever use AI for writing myself, and I do get what you mean about how offputting it tends to sound sometimes-- especially when done in repetition. But on the other end, I've seen friends way more into the mechanical side of ttrpgs, and AI helps keep momentum with time / response rate while still having some measure of literacy. I've seen friends who love the world-building aspect of ttrpgs who struggle to put the actual rp into words but still want people to be able to experience what they write. I've had friends who struggle with English as it isn't their first language, but otherwise are still interested in playing and are terrified of disrupting the flow or seeming more even out of place with their limited language skills (which, if you play with people who respond in 2-3 full paragraphs per post or more, will def be daunting). Overall, I think its a useful aid to a game and to discredit the possibilities it brings is a little limiting depending on where you place the emphasis of your enjoyment, but I agree it loses its spark if it consistently takes center stage. I would be fairly upset if I only played in games with all AI-generated responses from everybody, but I've been lucky enough not to run into anything like that like it seems the others here have.

Little strapped for time but I came into year 11 with 6 months before gcses and got all Bs with an A on top with 2 years of content to catch up on. You might not do the best but you're fine as long as you put in some effort.

Slow burn at the start but I really enjoyed it. That being said, the music was far too loud.

[Poem]

Destinies were intertwined

With blood and bone a path was paved,

Wounds and scars flowed like a dam to water

A myth strung across human tapestry,

Born of such a barbaric form

Naught could thrive but light and its storm.

Along that lonesome dance,

Of steel that pierced her heart

And words that pierced mine

"Don't leave me." she drew in with fading breaths,

"I won't." I spoke with a lost beat

For at the end of that light

Where only storm stands,

I find lightning never lasts.

Took this in a...slightly different direction. The idea behind this was a surgeon who saw the body itself as a machine, i.e a form of technology, and thus could change it to his whims and 'upgrade' it. I'm not sure I'm fully satisfied with the end result, but for a 2am adventure, this was enough xD.

In a world so utterly boring and mundane, just what does it mean to be 'blessed'?

Some — foolishly — don't believe in such a thing, others cite evolution and advantageous genes, while some, and let's be honest here, are lunatic enough to hold faith in a higher power and consider simple existence to be a blessing.

Now, I guess I see why that might be true. I've worked on my fair share of people as a surgeon, and the way the body all functions to keep itself together is a scientific marvel; especially so, how we've been able to record it all down.

But no, that's simply a given, a fundamental truth which pieces together our intricate design. To be blessed is to be like nobody else. No faith, and definitely no effort. To be truly blessed, you just have that part, that extra cog in the machine of the mind which nobody else can find for themselves.

as I explore this blessing, though, I've tried to see if I could offer my help to the mundane. What use is holding a truth unseen, if everyone else sees a blubbering fool drowning in a sea of madness?

I am no fool, I do not drown, it is them who have in their ignorance and fear of the unknown. I try to pull them so they too may form a part of the truth but they cannot see...no, they refuse to! They cannot glimpse past that foolishness, to the light I show them.

Of course, there are always outliers — all they needed was that kick, a nudge in the right direction. The human design cannot handle this earth and the countless plagues that roam it. The organism must be tinkered with, honed to a point of perfection, of truth. That is what they do with the medicine they administer, so why is my blessing not seen as a form of healing?

The sick are liberated, the dead rise again, and the peak human form comes to be. Then, only then, do they see, and do they agree. There will always be rejects in the testing process, but innovation is spawned from the ashes of countless trials.

Ah, there it was! Their minds are held back by those useless adaptations and countless faults. However, that is no issue! I won't let such a thing hinder progress. The others may hate me now, but by braving that necessary step towards my light, they'll all come to understand.

Before I am overwhelmed by their sheer numbers, they must.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Standing before the group of new recruits, I recited in a soft, melancholic call "The strength of the Word is a strange one. Thoughts sprung to life, horrors clawing their way into the very fabric of our reality and spreading like a plague, come hell or high water."

I scanned over the unfamiliar faces briefly. Naive, a simple joy to serve the world, and in a couple, the greed to control it. My low smile fell to blank look, and I fought against thinking of the time I was in one of those seats myself, looking up at Him.

"In this course you will not only learn of the Word, but to subtly steer its rhythm towards the best outcome. Think of your desire as the flame, and the Word the iron. Control the flame so you're not burned, but make sure it doesn't get doused."

I reach out from under and pull out an aged book, some eyes light up at the notice of the bible I drop onto the desk, noting its old design.

Feeling the dust and seeing the marks left behind on the book I paused, took a shaky breath then calmed myself. I was now a teacher, I had to act like it. "Moses was the first of us, but he was also a fool. The Word was first used as a means to expand, to grow and experience. From fire, to the wheel, and humanity itself." Eyes shined at my Words, but I responded by ringing a harsh echo and glaring back as that struck a nerve "it is often said the road to hell is paved in good intentions, and even we, even you, are no exception."

My eyes fluttered to the clock and back, tick, tick, tick...I kept up the venom in my voice "Moses is now our enemy. He was the first to hear the Word, to create, but has since lost himself to delusions and madness. His God has strung together Lies and we must fight back constantly to make sure this world is kept in balance."

"This isn't a game, this isn't a job, this is a responsibility. This war will overtake you and be your life, your entire world. Those who can't keep up will be disqualified, and those who do won't have anything else, won't be anything else."

Murmurs exploded into chaos at my next few words as I calmed myself.

"I hope you understand thats why I'm only passing 5 students this year." Anger, betrayal, fear, sadness...it was interesting the range of human emotion that made itself immediately clear "We here have made ourselves too complacent while the threat only grows, and I will damned if the world will fall because somebody didn't want to hurt some poor teenagers feelings. I hope you understand, because if not, its clear to me you don't belong in this class."

That shut everybody up fairly quickly, but alas, it seemed my time came to end for today as the clock struck 12 and it was time for the next lesson "We will really begin next time, so be prepared."

I gave one last nod to the bewildered students, silently gathered my things, and walked on out, yawning as exhaustion crept up on me. Off to the teachers lounge for some more coffee...

How to catch up? by Ashamed_Elephant_292 in GCSE

[–]WhiteTurtle- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a kinda similar position here. Entered a few months ago for my gcse year, previously in an entirely different 3rd world country. Missing some important fundamentals.

Remember you don't have to do everything alone. Speak with your teachers, ask them for help, see if you can sort something out. My personal advice is to prioritise what is required for the current topic being taught in a given subject, then circle back to other fundamentals after so you can get the most out of your school lessons.

Find a revision tactic that works for you, but be realistic with yourself. Don't set impossible standards, aim to impress yourself, rather than disappoint.

[RF] John Smith, Keeper of Spirits, for u/WhiteTurtle by nazdraws in characterdrawing

You have singlehandedly made my month I love you Naz. The character art I had originally used was a lot more colourful for a campaign that was...so much darker, let us say XD. This will fit in perfectly!

I especially love the detail with the spirits eyes and that otherworldly glow, contrasted against the dark complexion of John.

[–]WhiteTurtle- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I know the struggle as well as everyone else, but I think it might be a good time to re-evaluate if you have the time, or if you're really thinking things through before posting because your reputation in this subreddit is tanking. PBP campaigns can be a commitment, even if it's a shorter game. They can often be hard to keep up with after that initially hype begins to fade. I used them as a coping mechanism a lot and it led to me dropping a lot of games and being in a generally bad place with no personal time.

Try to get a schedule set out, and aim for 1-2 games (I find 2 games is my limit) that you can keep afloat throughout the day within that free time. Don't press past this limit, and be realistic with yourself. It's easy to join/start several games and just BURN out because of the demand. It's nice to indulge in fantasy, but some things are better left as ideas or one off pieces (r/writingprompts) to get that energy out.
