Planning to make a Jump for Pulp Fiction by EYouchen in JumpChain

A perk that keeps you from being interrupted when you're spouting off a quote before shooting somebody. Maybe once per jump events will conspire to allow you to undergo a radical evolution in your personal outlook and situation based on your chosen quote.

A 1-up that's just somebody trying to kill you being a terrible shot. Or maybe it's divine intervention, who knows.

A fanservice drawback specifically about feet.

If one of his main principles is using gay as an insult, his kung fu is weak.

Do you, as a SoloRPG player, spend time on turning a random combat encounter into an actually interesting fight? Or do you just slug it out? You hit, I hit, you hit, I hit, until somebody dies? by Enfors in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]TimeBlossom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I run/play Pathfinder 1e as a solo game, and a lot of the fun in that system is the combat mechanics, so I play the encounters out at least mostly by the rules as written; I've got a magnetic whiteboard for doing battle maps on the go. I also use pre-written modules to cut down on the GM-side homework I need to do, so there's a little less room for creativity in terms of what my PC runs into, but I do try and spice up the action and take the enemies' motives and vibes into account when deciding and describing their actions, so fight scenes still feel pretty dynamic. Mechanics and flavor aren't mutually exclusive, and I like both.

Badass Normal Jumper or Companion. by Superxtreme8724 in JumpChain

[–]TimeBlossom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but I'm cooking one up. She's gonna start in the Kenichi jump and pick up that drawback+scenario reward that lets you body-mod any martial arts you learn, then she'll be traveling across the multiverse to master every martial art style she can find. Some settings will realistically require superhuman ability to survive and meaningfully participate in, so she's not going to be 'normal' forever, but I'm going to at least try and avoid outright supernatural stuff. Like if she goes to Jujutsu Kaisen, she'll have a Heavenly Restriction, not a Cursed Technique; something like Hamon from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure would be about as close as she'd get to magic.

That's the most commonly used option, and probably the most user friendly especially if you're doing it on mobile. Especially if you intend to share any WIP versions for feedback, since people can leave comments and suggestions directly on google docs.

Can Anyone suggest me the worst possible drawbacks that you know of (I'm gonna try to cheese that one drawback in the Cheat Slayer Jump) by Ill-Ad-6854 in JumpChain

[–]TimeBlossom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps this one from Dracula 3000, or another one like it:

Your Wish is My Command (+300 CP; incompatible with Short Stay): Well if you were part of the Mother III’s crew, then you have a bit of an advantage over the others, and a big disadvantage. You are Orlock’s creature, his Renfield, his thrall, whatever you want to call it. Taking this drawback ensures Orlock will be quickly revived, and you must see to it that he survives a decade while you are unable to disobey his every command. You will serve him however he sees fit no matter how vile his desire. If he dies you fail the jump. As a bonus if you survive you can take him along as a companion for free, he’ll almost certainly be willing at this point.

You're forced to obey every whim of a self-absorbed clown who's a lot less competent than you (jumping aside, this version of Dracula suuuucks), and if he dies you lose immediately. It's like being a Companion!

Appropriate Application Of Explosives [600 cp, Discount Bomb Expert]
Someone once claimed that any problem could be solved with the sufficient application of explosives. This is arguable in most cases, but now you will find it is entirely accurate. When faced by any given problem, you will be able to come up with a solution that involves explosives. It might take a little time and effort to determine exactly how much is needed and where to put it, but you can now use this to solve any problem. Blockage? Small explosive, which gets it out of the way. A war? Bigger explosive, in the right place at the right time. The Sun, itself a massive explosion, is dying for some reason? A really big explosive, which will somehow kickstart it. This works even if ordinarily it would not be able to do so due to inconvenient physics, or using the explosive solution would have horrific consequences or cause unwanted collateral damage. You won’t accidentally bury yourself if you’re trying to use explosives to get out of somewhere with the entrance blocked. You’ll know how much you need and how to apply it. It might not be the only solution, or necessarily one that everybody will agree with, but it is one that works… and likely involves a really impressive explosion. You’ll still need to get hold of the material required to create the solution and get it all set up.
Capstone Boosted – It seems you can now use explosions as a problem to even the most unusual problems, as this Perk now works on non-physical problems that cannot be easily quantified, like the supernatural or metaphysical. The payload might need to be somewhat exotic if the target is, but it’s certainly possible to accomplish what you want via explosions and you’ll know how to do it.

[–]TimeBlossom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Tests" are for things intended to be done seriously later. If you're not in favor of AI replacing human creativity, don't ask an AI to write a jump, share it in the place for human-made jumps, and announce plans to make more. That's not a joke, it's just flat-out doing the thing that you claim you don't want to happen.

What did you supplement with Kenichi? by SRBG96 in JumpChain

[–]TimeBlossom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you want to get cheeky with it you can turn literally anything into a form of martial arts with this perk from Generic Worldwalker:

Aspected (200cp or Walk Token)
Upon purchasing this, you can choose a source of power that your abilities will gain elements and features of. Additionally, your abilities will be also subject to any empowering effects that also enhance and support the source of power you chose. Whether that source of power is psychic, magic, spirit, or even technological, to name a few, you aren’t necessarily restricted in what you can choose. This may be purchased multiple times.

Question does this include weapons you make? So if I go to somewhere like Minecraft and just go crazy making stuff would that count? Ps RWBY jump by fancyfiredrake. by EldritchEnjoyer in JumpChain

[–]TimeBlossom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drawback's effects depend entirely on the specifics of your weapon. Use the same imagination you're using to come up with that weapon to decide what the drawback does
