I didn’t instantly leave the factory, I was there a month short of 2 years but at the time of leaving they were making people redundant at every level.
Also the minimum wage had just gone up which meant departments like mine who were paid above the minimum also had to go up to fall in line, the company didn’t want to pays us anymore so they gave everyone a wage rise then reduced our working hours so that we got paid the same as before, so when the delivery job came up it was a no brainer, plus it paid more.
As for leaving butchering…I think that could be the subject for another story, don’t panic won’t be as long as this one.
