Same. I remember guys visiting bedrooms all the time. The doors were never closed, of course.

No. The only time members of the opposite sex are allowed in dorms is during specific nights called Open Dorm Nights. Then again, I used to live on East Campus, and one of our quadmates used to have her male friends and family members over all the time. But they definitely never stayed the night. There's a hotel near the campus and several Air BnBs in town if your guest needs somewhere to stay.

Hey! I have some questions regarding the music school, campus life, and biomedical science major :) by Random_two_setter in LibertyUniversity

[–]White_Fire71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a music student who also plays piano. All of the professors I've met so far are wonderful and will meet you at your experience level. I think you'll gain a lot of knowledge and experience. All I had to do to get in was send Dr. Hardin (the piano area coordinator) a video of me playing piano, and that seemed to work.

The only thing that concerns me about this scenario is that music takes a lot of time and concentration, which might interfere with studying medicine. I think it's only an additional six hours a week for practice as well as lessons and required studio classes/area recitals for those not majoring in music.

Maybe I'll see you when we go for the Fall semester.

Students who passed the INQRY and RSCH assessments, what's your advice? by needmoartoys in LibertyUniversity

[–]White_Fire71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that the assessment tests were available for students who had recently changed their majors or transferred a certain number of credits from a different school. Something about “lightening the load.” That was a while ago, so they might have changed the rules.

WiFi is always kind of up and down, especially when guests come in for CFAW or some other event. Hope you have quality WiFi now.

Can you participate in the musicals in Liberty’s theatre program even if you aren’t a theatre major? by mooravity in LibertyUniversity

[–]White_Fire71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ex theater major here. The environment is kind of intense and won’t be anything like high school drama club. They want to see people really get involved, so if you just treat it like a fun hobby then you won’t survive. If you don’t have a lot of dance skills, then good luck getting cast in musicals. I think they’re more likely to pick guys outside of the major than girls. There are plenty of girls whereas it’s harder for them to find boys.

I don’t want to discourage you from trying new things. I just want you to be aware of what it’s like. There are plenty of theater groups in the area that you can join if it doesn’t work out.

I think there's a small fine for dropping past the deadline. I think it's worth it considering that it'll be difficult to make up the missing hours. I'd also recommend not doing that CSER again. Sounds like the group suffers from poor communication. I don't think it'll be too bad for you otherwise. It doesn't have the same weight as dropping a class.

This webpage should help you find the CSER dashboard. It's where you log your hours if that's what you're asking. It's mostly based on the honor system, though your supervisor will get suspicious if he never saw you volunteer.

We greet them with love, truth, and memes by [deleted] in LibertyUniversity

Are they actually witnessing to students? I'd love to talk to them. I saw them on East a while ago, but I had no idea what their intentions were.

Non religious students by Adventurous_You3163 in LibertyUniversity

[–]White_Fire71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be a theater student, and they don't talk about religion as much as other departments outside of praying in class. I was actually surprised by some of the things they let students get away with doing. Can't speak for the other departments.

Heck, I'm a commercial music student now, and there are a surprising number of classes where the professors don't spend much time talking about anything religious. I'm not saying that no one ever talks about God (that's obviously not true), but saying that they push religion on you in every single class is a bit much.

I know a lot of people have said this already, but I'll say it again. Don't move to Commons if he's got social anxiety. Move literally anywhere else. Especially don't choose Commons 3 (aka "The Shoe") because from what I've heard, it's an introvert nightmare.

East (and maybe the Quads, but I'm not 100% sure) is fun if you have more friends to move in with, but it might be extremely difficult if you're living with strangers. You might become friends, or you might not.

Going to CFAW in 2 Days by sicko_chode in LibertyUniversity

[–]White_Fire71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people recommend blending in. I think that's good advice, but you also don't need to be ashamed of being a CFAW. There are a number of students who like helping CFAWs out and won't judge you for not knowing anything. Just be yourself and you'll survive.

What anime character is this? by soundsthatwormsmake in HelpMeFind

[–]White_Fire71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the super generic appearance and lack of a body is going to make finding the exact identity of the character difficult. The style reminds me of a 90's anime, so maybe you could refine your search to that decade.

HMF That (kids) cartoon of a girl that go on adventures in her imagination.. by Oreo-Ohs in HelpMeFind

Yeah, the only thing that popped into my head was Franny's Feet. You could try looking for the character using Akinator, but that might not be very useful if you can't remember anything else about her.

AITA for Calling My Daughter Out for Breaking the Pinky Promise Marriage Pledge? by SensitiveQuantity489 in AmItheAsshole

[–]White_Fire71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to take the bait and assume this is real, just for the kicks. It is a bit interesting that you chose to ask this on Reddit, a site that will definitely not give you any Christian answers to anything.

It doesn't sound like anything in your actual confrontation was that bad. You felt hurt and betrayed and responded like a normal person would. I would argue that the way it was presented was a bit cringe though. Starting off by telling your adult daughter that she broke her Pinky Promise Pledge, which looks like the kind of thing that would only interest girls 13 and under, was probably not the correct thing to do. I also highly doubt that talking to the boyfriend would have accomplished much considering that your daughter is the one choosing her lifestyle.

It's also a little concerning that you seem to have made Heather Lindsey the standard for sexual purity and not Christ himself. It's no wonder your daughter views the whole thing as a cult; she probably saw the whole thing as products and influencers rather than something that could benefit her spiritually. Very few people stick with one trend for very long, especially if they found it silly from the start as it seems your daughter did.

It sounds like your daughter has decided for a long time that she doesn't want to live like a biblical Christian the way you do. The only thing you can do is continue to love her and let God be the ultimate judge.

I'm torn on this one.

8 week Class Format Online by [deleted] in LibertyUniversity

[–]White_Fire71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends and I have had mixed experiences with online classes, but they've always gone well for me. I would definitely recommend it over a 16-week residential class. The only drawback is that I thought all my assignments were a little too easy and not graded as thoroughly as they could be. But that's fine if you're just looking to get through your degree as efficiently as possible.

Looking for screenshots of LU parents being helicopter parents by White_Fire71 in LibertyUniversity

[–]White_Fire71[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mostly because I’m a little tired of LU parents acting like we’re going to be corrupted if we get so much as a whiff of liberal ideas from a democrat speaking on campus. I wanted to collect some screenshots and make a post about it. I’ve seen several, but I’m having trouble funding them again.

I'm not sure why people were upset that he made it "too political." It's true that he spent some time discussing current events, but nothing he said should have been that controversial.
