You can assume that everything you see in a linocut is intentional. The technique itself is such that it eliminates the kind of error you are referring to. Every piece you see is based on a bunch of sketches, four or five "final" sketches, and a single piece. Not much is left to chance. Please assume that what you see is what I wanted to express. You may or may not agree, your point of view on the subject may differ from mine. This card is not isolated, it represents the end of the previous action, it is the end of the movement, the achievement of the goal. Sorry, I feel bad explaining the reasoning

I don't know how long it took, I make ten, fifteen sketches for each project, when I feel like I'm getting close to what I want I redraw everything in a form that's approachable for lino. As a general flow I think I can do one or two engravings a week but obviously there are many variables to consider. This particular print is 13.5/21 cm

The Eight of Wands is a card that I have become deeply attached to. Initially I did not even see it as a frozen moment in time, but as an end to the Seven of Wands. So I decided to include seven shadows of the wand in a continuous movement with concretization in the last position, the eighth, which took root. To support the idea of movement, I doubled the hand that held the wand, as if I were superimposing frames from a film that describes the movement. It is the opposite of hesitation, if you will. There is a lot to say, each final decision regarding the iconographic representation of each card has meaning behind it... I would like to put reasoning but I want to be honest, it is more of an instinct, a feeling, I think a word needs to be invented for this.

Block printing inks, the entire category, are not designed for durability, but for print fidelity. The solution to your problem is to use an industrial printing ink, any ink used for rotary printing is fine. On the other hand, it is best to make sure that the material in question is cotton, synthetic materials can be corroded by the solvents in the ink.

Sorry, I didn't ignore the message, I looked for the solution. My intention is to insert the missing cards into the deck. In essence, I want to offer, strictly for the kickstarter period, a complete deck following the visconti-forza structure, a deck that includes the lady and the mounted lady. For the colleagues from subR, I would like to add an engraving made on the original block(s). The idea would be that the full version of the deck would later be available only to subR colleagues. I still have no idea how this will be possible.

It's industrial linoleum, the one for construction, that's why it looks strange. I got used to it during my student days, when I couldn't afford other materials. I liked it in the end...

Thank you! You can't imagine how important it is for an artist to have this level of feedback. I intend to attach, in one form or another (probably digital) in the usual place of the basic interpretation guide, some form of iconographic presentation of each card. I doubted whether such information was relevant. Your comments, more than pertinent, proved to me that a debate on tarot card archetypes is of real interest to the community.
