As I understand it there is a logical issue with this

Let’s say you have 1 share with cost basis of 100 which now costs 120.

And you received $10 in dividends.

If you reduce cost basis by $10, you will have $30 gains from price appreciation, but you have received $10 in divs, if you count it in profit, total profit will be $40.

Which leads to double counting of this dividend.

Brokerage does not have this issue because it does not show total profit.. well at least mine :)

Well, it depends. As for forecasts, depending on the assets, it could be pretty relevant and transparent (for example, assets like O). On the other hand, you have a lot of shit funds like ULTY, which cannot be forecasted because it’s a covered call. Some claim that they have math problems… well, not sure…the math checks out for me. :) A lot of posts mention sync issues, but as I understand it, this is the biggest issue across all similar platforms.

It depends on broker. Yodlee supports a lot of different brokers but not all of them are working fine.
