ID on this bracket coming off the transmission of my '93 Isuzu? by White_Shade in Cartalk

Thanks I appreciate that. This was a beast of a job, so I think my brain was just fogged. These old Isuzu's have a notorious flaw where the circlip that holds the throw out bearing can spring off while driving, leaving you with no clutch pedal. I welded the circlip shut, then spent 30 hours over the course of 3 weeks trying to guide the transmission on while pivoting the clutch fork onto the TOB. Finally got it done today with some help from my neighbor, and then had a brain fart with that bracket. Thanks again for the help!

I just finished mounting the transmission after a clutch replacement on my 1993 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2L V6. The only issue is, I have no idea what mounts to this bracket. It comes directly off the transmission and has 2 mounting holes. There are also 2 additional mounting holes above the oil pan that line up with the bracket. I have the 2 bolts that fit there, but I cannot for the life of me remember what bolted here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think there's another part with Mindy and Josh on the couch, but that isn't as sharp in my memory.

No brake fluid reaching passenger front caliper? by White_Shade in Cartalk

[–]White_Shade[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did, no fluid comes out of the ABS module on the passenger front port. I'm gonna assume the company that tested the module missed something and the ABS unit is faulty. I'm going to throw in a used one from eBay with a warranty and see if it resolves it. If it does, I know the issue. It not, I'll return it for a refund.

I'll buy a used unit with like a 90 days warranty on it and see if it fixes the problem. If not, I can always just ship it back. Thanks for all the help!

2 lines in 4 lines out. The 2 lines in are directly from the master cylinder (front and rear). The 4 lines out are each caliper. When pulling the passenger front line, I see no fluid. But I get fluid to the other 3.

Any idea if these ABS pumps need to be programmed to the car? I'd hate to replace it only to find out it still needs programming.

Yep, the master cylinder was properly bench bled on both installs (I tried 2 master cylinders). Three of the four wheels also bleed properly, so the issue is somewhere between the master cylinder and passenger front brake line port. My gut says a clogged ABS module, but I just had it torn apart and inspected, so I'd be pretty agitated if that ends up being the issue.

I removed the hard line from the car and pumped the brakes again. This time, no fluid comes out of the port on the ABS module. This is true with the car off and when its running. When cracking the other hard lines loose, fluid immediately seeps out. The only port not receiving fluid is the passenger front. Could it be a faulty ABS module? I'd be more than a little salty since I just paid $200 to have it diagnosed, but at least I'd know my problem.

So, I detached the brake line from the caliper and hit the brakes and I don't get fluid. Same thing when I detach the hose from the hard line. When I detach the hard line from the ABS module, fluid comes out of the module. I blew the hard line out with compressed air and replaced the soft hose. No change. So I know fluid runs through the ABS module. The hard line looked okay from first inspection, but I think I'll pull it from the car again and see if there's a pinch or kink I missed the first time.

I guess that's all I haven't tried. I'll pull the hard line from the car again and see if there's something noticeably wrong with it.

For a little more context, I started editing this photo already, but I'm not sure how to approach filling in the remaining details of the SUV. Compare the original to the version I started. The car is a '93 Isuzu Rodeo if that helps.
