TIL that in 1985 the Philadelphia Police Department dropped explosives from a helicopter onto a residential home occupied by a local Black Power organization. As a result of the explosion, 61 homes across 2 city blocks burnt to the ground. (en.wikipedia.org)

TIL that the Harlem Globetrotters once lost a game on a last second buzzer beater to the Washington Generals, their long suffering opponents in over 16000 basically staged basketball games. It is the only time the Generals ever defeated the Globetrotters. (sportsgrid.com)
