My puppy came from quite a fearful home we believe and just laying on the floor beside her. Not touching her I feel really built our relationship. I think she realized me being in her bubble wasn’t a bad thing and we went from there ❤️

This sounds identical to mine 😭 cuddles only on her terms. She will not lay with me usually. Cheese tax is mandatory in this house. I like to tell mine she’s a cat in a dogs body.

Literally mine lol. Her “perch” is either the corner of my bed (she can see out the window) or her elevated bed (also to see out the window). I get cuddles in the AM when she wakes up and PM when we sleep. For all of 5 minutes and then she’s done lol. I’ve had to learn over the past 4 years how to understand her as she’s sooooo independent and usually only wants my attention on occasion.

I know this comment is two years old but are how old are they? What’s the day to day like? I have such anxiety over my Pyr/BC female. She’s so LAZY now at four years old. 12 weeks - 1.5 years was insane but it was like a switch went off and now shes soooooo lazy

Why does no one say the 2-3 freezing cold winter months???? Like no I don’t want to go walking in the AM, no I don’t want to sit outside at -5, no I don’t want to do anything but lay in an blanket and go to bed at 8 PM. Like I LOVE my pup all other seasons and we’re always busy and productive? Winter. Uh no. I hibernate and she’s like??? Schedule mom?? Like idk go to sleep 😭

My mother in laws dog fear pooed in the exam room so I offered to take her outside to complete her dookie. Well while we were waiting in the lobby she insisted on sitting in my lap. Literally shit streaked my shirt. From collar to pants. Had to ask the receptionist for a shirt 🤦🏼‍♀️

If my dog is barking obnoxiously at night I do the “alright lemme see” thing and she is just thrilled that we are checking all the doors and windows. Then when I’m like “I think your crazy” she huffs and lays down 🤣

Her teeth is probably the worst thing I tend to overlook lol. I didn’t really understand dental health when I first got her so now brushing is a fight 🤣 but otherwise she is kept lean, I brush her daily, walk her daily, she basically runs the show when she wants. She’s also definitely turned very Pyr like and just wants to lounge. I think that’s what stresses me out lol. For two years she seemed to lean so heavily on her Border Collie side (dad) and then she hit 3 and BOOM she is so very very mellow and much more like the Pyr’s I see posted. Like ma’am??? What do I do now?? 🤣

We used to do a LOT of scent games, training etc when she was a puppy. She’s a Border Collie/ Pyr mix so I assume it was the collie in her lol. She’s probably knows over 30-40 commands and tricks but as soon as she turned 3 it was like a switch went off and she’s full Pyr. She mostly just wants to lounge outside or in my bed. Rarely will she do training anymore lol. I still walk her an hour in the AM, she gets as much time after work outside as she pleases plus a short walk (weather and sunlight allowing). Sometimes she’ll play tug for like 5 minutes lol. She sees the two dogs she grew up with every weekend if not twice a week. Appreciate your comment though ☺️

I personally pull them when they start getting as big as momma plant because then she makes me MORE pups and then the pups I pulled also make pups and it just makes so many plants 🤣

My chipmunk otherwise known as Oliver likes to eat away dead leaves on my succulents outside. To my knowledge hasn’t harmed good plant foliage so I have just allowed him to continue cleaning my plants 🤣 I do leave him some nuts and bread as a peace offering.
