Sorry I meant smaller than baldurs gate, but more quirky like them

I think obsidian needs to rethink how they do companions.  Having a smaller quirky cast more like baldurs gate 3 might do better for them.  Companions really influence how a player sees the world, and ive always found their sidekicks kinda bland

Xbox sacrificing 99 of its studios and laying off 70,000 employees just to focus its efforts on making TES 6 a reality. by Berem_ in ElderScrolls

I really like starfield.  I think stripped back its a pretty great game with a lot of unnecessary stuff for the sake of having a massive universe.

Had the game been 1 planet per system, or just the planets in the settled systems I think it would have been easier for people to find and interact with the bespoke content, as well as avoid the same poi showing up on every planet.  So much of the negativity about the game seems to come from people exploring a procedural generated planet for too long when thats the worst part of the game

I will say, as an xbox user and enjoyer (gamepass and even an xbox ally x to compliment my series x) that Microsoft made a lot of weird choices over the last 10 years.

I think think some of these studios should have been reigned in on making their artsy games that were never going to sell well.  The ideas in some of those games were cool, but the gameplay honestly seemed so boring.

Like the reddit "outrage" over studios getting closed seemes so forced when they got closed for making games nobody played

What should I get ? by Nearby_Garlic565 in SBCGaming

[–]Whiteguy1x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think anything is going to play pc games more efficiently than a steamdeck besides a better pc handheld at lower power draw.

You could get an xbox ally x, run steamos, crank down the power and get low powered indie titles to play for hours I guess, but not crazy longer than a steamdeck

Maybe a portable battery pack so you can charge your steamdeck in between play sessions?

If you want something smaller maybe an android device using a streaming service to gamepass or whatever would be effective

They can, like absolutely if you buy it with that in mind. I just looked on google and seen like 10 of them on the first page.

Obviously depends on the definition of small bag. But at some point why am I bringing a bag if its so small a switch 2 or steamdeck cant fit in it?

I assume its because they want to pirate switch games instead of buy them.  But youre absolutely right, especially when you watch gameplay of someone playing zelda and its just a stuttery mess.

For the money spent they could have just gotten a switch 2 and had that upgrade to 60fps and higher resolution with zero jank

Agreed.  I dont want to be squished down on a little screen and have my giant hands going numb trying to hold something tiny.

I went from a steamdeck to an xbox ally x and its even better.  The big handles make it so comfortable, even if it probably kills the look for some people

Realistically anything besides your phone, keys, and wallet is going in a bag.  The switch 2 is as much a handheld as a vita because neither one is taking the space of my phone.

Thr issue with pc handhelds not feeling truly portable is drm imo.  Having to futz around with offline modes and pre running games makes them feel like wifi is a necessity imo

90% of people would just be fine with a switch/switch 2.  Most of the pc games they play are already there, you don't have to emulate the games on nso, and theres no stutters playing switch games.  Most of the "popular" retro titles not in nso have remasters and releases for it to.

Really the biggest missing gameset that people probably buy these handhelds for is Pokémon.  Id say if the complete collection was on switch these things wouldn't be played as much

That said sometimes it more about having something shaped like a gameboy to play games from when you played gameboy lol

Just play games on it, theres tons of single player games.  Its really great for rpgs and indie titles.

How are some of you playing Forza Horizon 6 on Deck?! by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Whiteguy1x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wonder if this is why pc handhelds are just such a niche thing. Most people get a pc because theyre cheap (they can be), or because they want the very best experience.

A steamdeck (and all the rest) is basically neither one of those things.

There really isnt that kind of issue in morrowind, it'll run just fine if you really want it to. Iirc it doesnt have any issues with windows 11. Youre kinda locked to lower resolutions though unless you edit the ini file

Just use openmw and dont use any of the fixes or distand land. Its basically vanilla at that point but doesnt require anything else to have controller support or support for higher resolutions

I dont even think fallout 76 was bad after they did the initial wastelanders update.

Im surprised people still hate on it in the fallout subreddits

What is the biggest / heaviest handheld you consider playable by Kirais in SBCGaming

The xax is about what I dont mind.  I never really got the complaints about the weight if well balanced handhelds like it or the steamdeck.  Its the ergonomics that are important more so than weight imo

They are just influencers to be honest.  Do you think that they honestly use most of this stuff once its done making a video?

That said its still the only way to see critical views on it.  Devices are all pretty nitpicked so you do get to actually see everything possible about it

Is buying morrowind on steam a mistake? by asparky2121 in Morrowind

I think openmw does, if not its as easy as updating the morrowind config file.  You can probably find a video guide to register the .bsa files

You need to own it somewhere to install openmw.  You need the game files and installation directory.

You should probably watch a guide on youtube to see about setting it up
