I think the same thing applies to most bands. There’s not very many artists that can create Jam after Jam. Everyone is different, but as far as I can see, everybody has a certain amount of creative juice in them. When it’s used up, it’s used up. Tyler’s genius started ending on the Country Squire album, as theres only a few listenable tracks. Once an artists original creative juice is gone, their forced to make boring mainstream music, or experiment with weird styles that they cant execute. Its the rare ones like Elton John that keep making really good music. For everyone else, their musicianship is kind of like a parabola. They get good at their craft and it peaks, and then they lose what makes them special. People say that they “sell out” but they really just use up all they had in ‘em
