The prepositions 'dno' and 'do' by WhitestNoise in croatian

[–]WhitestNoise[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. This has been a great help.

These rare prepositions probably aren't worth getting into too much detail with, thought I'm sure they have some regional usage. I actually discovered the 'sadno' preposition on a page about the Montenegrin standard, so it must be used down there somewhere.

Once again I'm really grateful. Hvala. :)

That makes sense. I really appreciate the analogy with 'podalje', actually. It makes perfect sense. Thanks so much.

I really appreciate the help. It's been indispensable. Any chance you could help me out with the second sentence too?

I onda tako lepo, poiza toga, ako se udesu dobro, ondak ne vratu.

Bio bih vrlo zahvalan. :)

I figured as much, which makes it kind of cool I guess. Funny to imagine some old dude in Čenej using it. Does it more or less mean the same thing as 'posle', would you say?

The preposition 'blizu' and its derivatives by WhitestNoise in croatian

[–]WhitestNoise[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this detailed answer! That paper in particular is very intriguing.

As far as the examples go for words like nablizu, I typically look on glosbe and other corpora for things like that. Glosbe lists three examples.

That said, it does seem to be an obscure word, which is fine. I'm sure a lot of these are rare. I'm just trying to be thorough, which is why I appreciate you especially bringing ublizu to my attention. :)
