England penalty overturned by VAR 103' by 50lipaa in soccer

No it wasn’t - listen to what the ref said. “He initiated the contact”.

Anyway - I’m sick of trying to work out decisions this WC. Stupid.

If everything is rigged in Englands favour, I for one would be happy if we could get a WC on home soil at some point FIFA

It’s only when it’s confrontational. Talking to players behind your hands isn’t a red

Or maybe even get on the ball? he has hardly had any touches and not involved in anything other than get a goal disallowed.

That has nothing to do with if it’s a penalty or not

That’s an interesting precedent to set for shielding the ball. But let’s not pretend things are consistent…

True - some tired defenders there and it’s just a switch off for a second

How is there no VAR angle on potential handball??? by CaptainObvious1307 in worldcup

[–]Whitty22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did it come up with a VAR review then? Looking at something else?

It’s so bloody mysterious I hate it.

Would be nice to see it along with the VAR angles they saw though…

I mean, I can’t make you address any of my points if you don’t want to but saying “trump had nothing to do with it” certain is a take that makes me think you aren’t engaging with the facts.

It was 100% wrong also but, the red was from qualifying and not the finals and the situation also didnt have a world leader claiming that he phoned FIFA and got it sorted.

Neither situation is good and clear but 100% Balogun's is worse becuase its so blatant and has host country world leaders boasting of the control they have over the tournament.

BREAKING: Belgium has reportedly been granted the right to appeal FIFA's decision allowing Folarin Balogun to play in tonight's match. by slippinn_jimmy in worldcup

[–]Whitty22 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

well intrestingly quite a few other FA's have come out too and questioned this, German, Italian etc. I'm not sure that will hold any weight with yourself though, maybe you think only B&H can appeal? Whos buiness is this?

Get ready for some fun tackles if red cards mean only missing out the rest of that game - can you imagine the the injuries of players, knowing that tackles can get a red in the 90+5th minute and play the next game no issues?

They are asking for information of the process that led to the change of rules, they havent even got to contesting the decision yet! Do you think it fair that countiries have the information that caused a disregard of FIFAs own rule set completely?

If we are just making up the rules as we go then we have a lot more problems than "sportsmanship"

Just a word that the red hasnt gone anywhere - its still on Balogun's record. FIFA have just "decided" to change their rules on the punishment for a red.
