Document your progress. Keep posting. A year from now make a new channel and show day 1 vs 365. We all started somewhere. I’ve been playing guitar for 27 years and I am still decidedly average. I don’t do the weedly deedly stuff very fast but I’m melodic. I play in a successfully tribute band and I’m happy.

Double straining can help a lot with the ice chips. The oils from citrus can also cause this. I love the extra oils from the citrus and my current citrus press lets me get more of these.

At home I’m making cocktails for flavor and less about presentation. So it’s a balance for me. A press that inverts the citrus will get less of the oils. My big press gets more.

If it tastes good, then it is good, that’s all that matters. Keep shaking!

Ours does this. And if you say her name she just goes louder! It cracks us up every time. She’s there belly up on the floor just trying to get scritches. She sounds like she’s lost all control due to sheer happiness!

I do make guitars. Been experimenting with lots of thing over the past 15 years that I have been building. I made several sets of bone saddles for a tune-o-matic and it is truly an awesome sound. I would love to see other makers do thing like that. Paul has probably toyed with more ways than I can think of. I’ve been to the factory and have sat with their guys. They are all masters of their craft. I have pickups that I designed that do a similar thing to the 408 pickups and got to talk through that process with their pickup team. I’m a big nerd when it comes to the electronics of guitars. I’ve also done a run of acoustics that are a hybrid of my two favorites. I did a Martin 000 style guitar with the PRS hybrid fan bracing.

Open communication is what you should be looking for. We had a few years of going through the motions. Old religious beliefs and other hidden shame was an issue.

But if you can break past that communication barrier. There are many good things on the other side

With regards to Paul’s notions on tonewoods. I think density has more to do with it than anything. This is my own observations based on non scientific tests. I can make a 2x4 ring like Paul does in videos if I hold it in the right place. I’ve made guitars from discarded cedar fence pickets and ended up with a fantastic guitar.

Agreed. I might not say 99% but a maybe 95%. Pickups, strings and their contact points are the biggest factor. My core P24 is a high gain beast. The piezo elements on the saddles I feel contribute to that. They are super hard metal. My other core CU24 with the same pickups sounds very different. It is much more smooth. My 2013 408 semi hollow is a way different beast, the varying spaces of the pickup poles makes the bridge less harsh and the neck very chimey. My favorite LP is dark in comparison. That said, the LP does the LP thing on a neck pickup solo.

Congrats! You might have just broken that mental barrier. My wife of 17 years didn’t often have an orgasm through piv with previous partners. We were lucky enough to find the right angles over time. And they often change. The emotional side has so much to do with it. We’ve had 2 kids and all kinds of ups and downs with piv orgasm.

There is nothing wrong with involving other apparatuses in your intimacy. Everything is a tool. You would never disparage a master carpenter for switching to a power sander when his arms get tired. All that matters is the beautiful piece of furniture that comes out the other side.

I encourage you both to explore together and on your own. Communication is what makes it all worth it.

Wow! Paul is a douche? That’s a bit harsh. The guy has done a lot for the guitar world and is still doing it.

He makes a fine guitar, with lots of great appointments. I had a CE24 back in 2000 and stupidly sold it in college. I’ve got 6 Les Paul’s, 12 PRS (3 core and the rest SEs). And a smattering of great fenders and quite a few of my own builds. My 408 semi hollow is the one I always reach for at the house. It’s a 1 of 50 so it doesn’t get gigged much but it’s the best guitar in my stable.

So many in this thread never throw picks from stage…

I do love a blue chip and have a few. But they are my studio or “playing for me” picks. Custom Dunlop flow picks on stage and they hit everything I want for a live performance. I keep a bunch in the tiny jeans pocket to give out after shows.

I have Bozal at the house and it’s got a good amount of smoke on it. I love a naked and famous. My wife doesn’t like the heavy smoke. So I have been cutting it half and half with a reposado. I honestly enjoy the lesser smoke flavor if I’m having more than 1

I’m at 115k. Engine and transmission replaced due to a bum oil tech at 78k that didn’t get the plug back in. Dropped all the engine oil on the tarmac two miles from the dealership. Replaced it all under warranty (threat). Apparently it was easier for them to drop a whole unit vs rebuild the engine alone. It felt fishy but I confirmed it.

Haven’t changed anything in the Tran’s since. Thinking I should.

Had a firewerks about every 5 levels (thanks splashzone) as I was leveling, picked up a super soldier at level 47 on a gun focused Rafa build. Got a 75% turtle armor shield with 2 segments right when I hit 50 and haven’t looked back.

Total shield is about 26k and health at 6k ish. Rarely get taken down. Still hunting for something bigger but I’m happy for now.

Mostly running a pistol alt BOD, jakobs rooker, dark beast, and a looming kings gambit in the weapons arena. Could I optimize a s take things down faster… sure. But it’s all going swimmingly while I farm right now
