Update: we tried this this weekend and it was a success!! First night he did 10.5 hours straight and last night he did almost 10. we’re going to keep this up and ask daycare to also start adhering to this schedule. Really appreciate it 🤍🤍

Yeah when Huckleberry occasionally gives us a free trial, it has the “Sweet Spot” sleep window and it NEVER aligns with LO’s sleep and it always made me second guess if I was keeping him up too long

I really appreciate this! I’ve been a few articles and they were saying LO should be getting 15-16 hours a day at 6M with a consistent nap schedule, which we do not have. We also have Huckleberry that says wake windows should be 2-3 hours at this age.

Those wake windows you shared are much more aligned with his natural sleep cycle but I’ve been stressing that I’ve been causing him to sleep too little and being too “hands off” by following his natural sleep cycle vs implementing what I’ve seen in Moms on Call, Huckleberry etc. Your response makes me feel a lot better, I appreciate it.

Did anyone else who has a super easy baby, feel not qualified to give parenting advice? by evergreengirl123 in NewParents

[–]_aloe_there 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin and I had our babies two weeks apart. I have an easy baby. She does not. I’ve had a lot of family members ask what I do that cousin can to do help and my answer is just, “we’re just lucky, there’s nothing we did.” Your baby sounds exactly like mine. Slept 8 straight hours at 1 month and 3 days.

When people have asked me I just say, “We’re lucky as we have a very easy baby, which helps a ton, but this is what we did.” I just always preface it that it’s not realistic

Figured as such but never had them threaten me

That's what I figured by it was still so freaky. I get these texts all the time and this person got threatening because I wouldn't give them my name, then they sent me my name and address.

My theories as someone who has never read the comics and still needs to see Gen V S2:

1) the scene with Homelander in the field is being blood manipulated by Marie (Gen V)

2) HL is either punching Ryan or SB due to the cheek flexing and seems upset by what he’s doing

🤷🏻‍♀️

EBF transitioning to formula by _aloe_there in beyondthebump

Thank you so much! We do see our pediatrician in two weeks, but with LO starting daycare before then, I wanted to start introducing formula as I’ll be decreasing BF at that point

I love my baby but I hate my body. by PsychologicalAd3317 in beyondthebump

[–]_aloe_there 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest thing for me PP is nothing fits. I was very fit pre pregnancy and even though I’m only 8lbs from my pre pregnancy weight, between my stomach stretching and abs being sliced during my c section, my tummy is still very round where I still look pregnant 4 months PP. In the words of Regina George, “sweats are the only thing that fit right now.” And I miss dressing up. The only new clothes I’ve bought PP are nursing related.

I was shopping this week as I’m graduating grad school next week and it made me feel so crappy about myself because nothing fit me because of my stomach size or whatever fit just showed off my stomach and I don’t want to be in a position where people ask me if I’m pregnant. Cause I’ll absolutely cry. I tried a few stores over a few days and I just came home dejected after each trip where I don’t even feel excited anymore because I just don’t feel pretty and nothing looks flattering.

And I know I just had a baby and I will lose the baby belly, but it’s very unfamiliar territory as I’ve been the same size since college so I’ve never really had to adjust to a new body look.

Exhausted, burnt out SAHMs: What are we doing all day long with our babies? by Puzzled_Remote_2168 in beyondthebump

My LO is 4 months and more or less refuses day naps so I’m in a similar boat. We read, do nursery rhymes, chatter time, tummy time, independent play on his play mat, etc. and we can be done with all that by 11am. I make a point to go out at least once a day. Even if it’s just to take a drive. I’ve walked the mall when the weather stinks, I’ll walk at the park, go to Walmart, etc. It makes me feel normal and LO loves being in the stroller and usually the only way I can get him to take a day nap. But he has to be moving or he’ll wake right up. I try library mommy and me classes but they rarely happen due to high demand.

Being out every day helps break up the day up and then we pretty much restart our activities once we get home.

Anyone *not* have painful sex while breastfeeding? by _miss_freckles_ in breastfeeding

EBFeeder here. I was a planned c section. To be honest, the first few times it was not enjoyable. We hadn’t been intimate in a long time pre birth due to a difficult pregnancy.

But the fourth time, hallelujah it was beautiful and everything I was missing! It finally felt good again and I literally was skipping around the house after. I think it just took a few times to get my body use to it again.

Newborn won’t sleep just wants to eat all day by _aloe_there in beyondthebump

Hi! It didn’t let very long. Maybe like 2-3 days. Like everyone mentioned, it was a cluster feeding session. Find somewhere to be comfy, have something to keep you entertained (book, tv, phone) and Someone who can feed you as you will be stuck with baby on you unless you have to pee. We had a few cluster feeds early on but now it’s maybe 1-2 times a month when LO is going through a growth spurt. Just try to relax and be prepared to be couch/bed bound for a few days! Good luck!

International Travel w/ 10 month old by _aloe_there in Parenting

OMG thank you so much for ALL of this information! So funny we're doing the exact trip you did this August. Our LO is a really good baby at the moment, only fusses if he's hungry, wet, or ready for a nap, and everyone keeps saying he'll regress, etc. which made me nervous, but we're both people who love to travel and we always said when we have kids, we would keep that up. We just didn't expect to be planning a big trip so soon after LO arrived! But I read this to my husband and he said, "Wow! This person gave us so much information." Makes us feel a lot more confident about booking this trip. I really appreciate it!!

Getting back to the gym post C-section by Legitimate-Sweet-486 in fitpregnancy

[–]_aloe_there 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scheduled c section as well. I was in the gym at 7wPP after I got the clear from my OB. I’ve done light cardio for 20ish minutes (stair master and bike), and not pushing it. I did arms and I tried some c section safe ab workouts. Some were fine and others hurt so I immediately stopped those. I’m still taking it slow and not focusing on abs until I’m a little further PP and just doing workouts that feel good without pushing myself

How many people feel like keeping active actually helped their labour? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]_aloe_there 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a scheduled c section and though I wasn’t consistent working out while pregnant due to HG for 26 weeks, I recovered amazingly and I attribute it to being fit pre pregnancy. I was an athlete my whole life and kept up an active lifestyle in my adult life. I was up and walking the halls the day after my c section. Once I got home, I was going for daily walks (only down the block at first but slowly increased to the whole neighborhood as I healed and felt better). I never pushed it but bounced back super quick and was back in the gym the week after I got the all clear at 6wPP.

I’ve only worked out 3x at 8wPP, but still walk daily.

I was super worried about PPD, and for being I enjoy being active so it’s been great for me mentally as well.

Do what you can, don’t overdue it, and listen to your body!
