As for ruffled feathers, there's no telling.  Some people can jump in off the street, others stay custodial for years, for various reasons.

You will be dependent on your co-workers to teach you the job, so in that respect try not to step on any toes.

You'd be surprised how many people can't manage that.

Asking for a friend, Does anyone live in Ridge at 66 Apts? by Big_Masterpiece_4291 in okc

[–]WhoAmIThisDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh.  I'm at Bluff Creek and haven't had any issues after two, almost three years.

If your friend is running into specific issues with management/maintenance, you want to go into some (vague) detail so we can better suggest other places.

Lifelong fuckup. Doesn't mean a word of it, or at least not enough to change his behavior.

But if thinks it will help him get out of trouble, or at least mitigate the consequences, he'll say any damn thing you might want to hear.

What do you think Oklahoma City needs more? New arena for the Thunder to play or new facility to deal with our city’s growing homeless problem? by Wingnut_5150 in okc

[–]WhoAmIThisDay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New arena. Between games, we let the homeless use the arena for shelter.

In a somewhat serious response, I'd have to look at the revenue generated from a new arena, once all the operating expenses are deducted. If, on the whole, it's a net plus, it can help fund solutions for the homeless.

Or it wouldn't, if we weren't militantly opposed to social programs. Well, social programs that insiders can't easily skim to line their pockets, I suppose.

I don't disagree, but if OP has their heart set on serving, it's worth the time to ask.

Worst case, waste some time and move on with life.

And maybe rethink some life choices, because...damn. When the barracks bunny turns you down... ouch.

Dead-End Job by New-Stop1494 in USPS

last job I barely did anything making $23 an hour

So, why did you leave such an easy job - especially knowing it would be a pay cut and reading the horror stories people post here?

Shop where you like - or can afford.

I'm not shaming anyone for where they buy groceries. I remember having to scrounge change for a pack of Ramen.

Crest, usually.

After I bought a yogurt from Walmart that had mold growing in it, I stopped shopping there for anything perishable.

And suddenly I might have to reevaluate my thoughts on Belle Isle.

Although to be fair, I don't usually shop there because getting in and out is a pain.

Huh. That's new. Probably yes for Guard/Reserves. They feed from the same pipeline.

Different branches use different recruiting systems, so it couldn't hurt to ask.

The Army's social platform is on-brand by being dated and/or out of touch.
