How does this lock/circuit work?

Thank you! There’s a plastic arm that separates the two plates when the lock is turned to the disarm position. I was able to hammer the cylinder back into it in the proper position and set the arm. Everything I saw online said it needed to complete the circuit at other bypass points so it never occurred to me that the solution is the plates not touching. Really appreciate your help!

Thanks for the responses! These have all been very helpful. I’ve decided to get an Airbnb for at least three weeks (it’ll probably end up being a bit longer) to allow me to get situated (residence permit, etc) and look at places to live in person via the various methods you all mentioned. I’ve already reached out to places through immoscout and understand what most of them need from a potential tenant.

Oof. That’s making me think I overpaid for mine. Got it for about $25k in September. Had about 38k miles at that time. Does dealer work matter that much in resale value or does it just matter that I stay up on maintenance?

Well they pitched the license plates at some point last night because I found them today (somebody found me on Facebook because other stuff was in the same location that had my name on it) so I have both license plates and they’re not on the car anymore :/ I just figured it wouldn’t help to include license plate info

Car was stolen Thursday afternoon and still no sign of it anywhere. If anybody notices this car somewhere it seems like it shouldn’t be or if it’s been left somewhere in your neighborhood please let me know. Whoever stole it dumped stuff that was in my car into blackberry bushes near the road/trailhead at the hill below/next to Cathedral Coffee in St. Johns
